As a small business owner, I could sit here and tell you why I think you should book with me…

On this day last year, I made the deposit that officially secured me buying my home back after my divorce.

And despite what most people assume, this wasn’t just a simple “spousal buyout.” I had to forcefully repurchase my own home 🙄🙄 The purchase agreement literally said “Seller: Melissa” and “Buyer: Melissa,” which is what made this moment feel so surreal and monumental.

As someone self-employed with no guaranteed income, it was one of the scariest decisions I’ve ever made… but I just knew I had to make it work for myself and my kids.

A moment I’ll never forget. 🤍

Last Friday reminded me where this all started 🤍

Before the brows, tattoos, lashes, and everything else… there was makeup.

I spent the day glamming clients for their proms and a wedding, and it honestly brought me right back to the early days of building my business. Such a full circle feeling.

I think somewhere along the way people forgot I still do makeup… but days like this reminded me how much I still love being part of these special moments 🥹

Looking forward to all my other upcoming prom/wedding/special event makeup applications these coming weeks 🫶🏽

Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible moms out there 💐

Today can hold so many emotions, and I’m thinking of all the women navigating this day in their own way — whether you’re celebrating, grieving, healing, longing, or loving from a motherly role.

Being their mom has been the greatest privilege of my life.

Everything I’ve built, every goal I continue chasing, and every beautiful memory we create together means more because of these two. I’ll forever be grateful for this journey with them and all the memories still waiting for us ahead. 🤍
