If your tween is asking for a $70 anti-aging serum… it’s because TikTok has officially lost its mind 😂 let me help you help your kiddo!
Here’s a quick cheat sheet to keep it simple & safe:
Ages 7–9:
🫧 Gentle cleanser
💧 Light moisturizer
☀️ Sunscreen
Ages 10–12:
Same as above +
✨ Optional gentle exfoliation 1–2x/week for those new little clogged pores
Ages 13–15:
🫧 Gentle or acne-friendly cleanser
💧 Non-comedogenic moisturizer
☀️ Sunscreen
🎯 Spot treatment if needed
🧴 Optional alcohol-free toner
Ages 16–17:
✨ Basic daily routine +
Optional simple add-ins like niacinamide or hyaluronic acid
(But still NO strong actives!)
Hard NOs:
Retinol, vitamin C, peels, harsh scrubs, anti-aging anything, fancy gadgets, or 17-step routines. 🙅♀️
