After 25 beautiful, life-shaping years behind the chair, I’m saying goodbye to this chapter—and stepping into a new one as a Key Account District Educator for Kao Canada. There are no words that fully capture what these years have meant to me. What we built together was never just about hair. It was connection. It was trust. It was laughter, tears, fresh starts, big changes, and quiet moments in between. You didn’t just sit in my chair—you became part of my life. You trusted me with your hair, but even more than that, you trusted me with your stories. And that is something I will carry with me forever. This next step is because of you. Every conversation, every transformation, every bit of growth we experienced together has led me here. I now get to take everything I’ve learned and pour it into supporting and inspiring other stylists and salon business owners across BC and and Alberta—and that means your impact goes far beyond our time together. But that doesn’t make this goodbye easy. I will miss you all very much. I will miss our conversations, our laughs, and the feeling of seeing you walk out the door with a little spring in your step after a new hair cut or colour. Please know how incredibly grateful I am for every single one of you who trusted me over the years. You’ve left a mark on my heart that will never fade. After 25 years in this industry, I’ve learned this: experience doesn’t mean every request is easy. Some asks still stretch me, challenge me, or fall outside my strongest area of expertise— and that’s okay. Growth doesn’t stop just because I’ve been doing this for a long time nor should it.

However being a stylist for over two decades has also taught me a lot of lessons including knowing my strengths and my limits. Not every request aligns with every stylist in this business, no matter the experience. The real skill is being honest, adaptable, and always - always learning.

The photo above represent exactly this. My beautiful client asked for an updo yesterday and assistance to executing it at home. Though this is not something in my repertoire I did my best to execute the request and do the very best I could for her.

As we celebrated this season of gratefulness, today I am thankful for this new client and her patience and trust in me.

Two months ago she came in saddened by a recent haircut she had done at another salon. Feeling frustrated and discouraged she was not able to achieve what she really wanted.

During her complimentary consultation we discussed the action plan to get her to her goal and booked her first appointment eight weeks later.

I am happy to report although the weather outside was awful the day of her appointment. This client was all smiles when she left the salon.
