30 YEARS OF LIFE. 30 YEARS OF GROWTH. AND A HEART FILLED WITH GRATITUDE.

As Flora celebrates her 30th birthday, there are many things she could count: the milestones, the accomplishments, the events, the people she has met, and the dreams that have slowly become reality. But at 30, if you ask her what she truly has, her answer is simple.

A grateful heart. And that's everything she needs.

She is grateful for the beautiful moments and even the difficult ones. Grateful for the people who stayed and the people who taught her lessons. Grateful for every opportunity, every challenge, every review, every client, every mistake, every little win, and every chapter that helped shape the woman she is today.

This birthday week, we celebrate the woman behind Florabelle YYC, our Owner and Founder, Flora Mae Estayo-De Leon.

To our clients, Host Flora of Florabelle YYC is the energetic host who can light up a room, the creative mind who turns ideas into memorable celebrations, and the professional who genuinely cares about every detail. But Flora wears many hats. She is an entrepreneur, event host, makeup artist, wife, and mom, and each role reveals a different part of the woman behind Florabelle YYC.

As a makeup artist of Hair and Makeup by Florabelle YYC, Flora has always had a love for beauty, creativity, and helping people feel confident in their own skin. For her, makeup is not simply about transforming someone's appearance. It is about enhancing what is already beautiful, creating connections, and having the privilege of being part of someone's special moments.

Whether she is holding a makeup brush or a microphone, the heart behind what she does remains the same. She loves making people feel special.

But behind the makeup artist, the host, and the business owner is another side of her that means even more: Flora the wife and Flora the mom.

Before the appointments, microphones, meetings, messages, planning, and events, there is a woman who loves her family deeply. Being an entrepreneur while being a wife and a mom is not always glamorous. There are late nights after the family is settled, early mornings answering messages, weekends spent working, and days when she switches from Mom Mode to Makeup Artist Mode to Boss Mode to Host Mode, sometimes all in the same day.

Her family is a big part of her inspiration and motivation. They remind her why she works hard, why she keeps dreaming, and why building Florabelle YYC has always been about more than simply building a business.

Through 30 years of growing, falling, learning, loving, dreaming, and becoming, one of the biggest lessons Flora has learned is the importance of listening.

Because growth doesn't come only from applause.

The beautiful reviews, recommendations, repeat clients, referrals, and words of appreciation mean more to Flora than people may realize. Every kind message reminds her why she started and encourages her to keep going. But she also understands that not every experience will result in praise.

Some feedback is harder to receive. Some words make you stop, reflect, and see things from another person's perspective. Sometimes those moments become some of the most valuable lessons.

Flora hears those voices too.

She hears them not to argue, not to dismiss them, and not to pretend that everything is always perfect. She listens to understand. She reflects on what could have been done differently. She asks herself, “What can we learn from this, and how can we do better?”

Because owning a business also means owning the responsibility that comes with it. It means being grateful when people tell you what you did right and being humble enough to listen when someone tells you where their experience could have been better.
