Skin, well lived. ✨🌿
Earlier this week, I was in the middle of a refreshing summer facial for a wonderful woman who has been a patient and friend for many years. We always find ourselves lost in conversation, and this time, the topic drifted to skin aging.
When I brought up the different treatment paths we could explore as things progress, she paused. With a warm smile that crinkled the skin around her eyes, lines that I’ve grown to love as much as she has, she looked at me and said,
“Marie, I know this might sound strange in your profession, but I have no desire for injectables or to erase these lines.
She took a breath and continued, her voice full of quiet pride. “I worked hard for every single one of these wrinkles. This one? That’s from decades of belly laughing with my husband. Those are from chasing my dreams on sunny vacations. For me, these are not imperfections. They are evidence of a life well lived.
That sentence hung in the air, transforming the energy in the room. I felt that familiar surge of why I absolutely LOVE what I do.
If you’ve known me (Marie 👋🏼) for a while, you know that my goal has never been about forcing people into a mold of « perfection. » It’s about meeting you where you are. My professional experience is just a tool to enrich your quality of life. I never want to retire, and it’s conversations exactly like this one that inspire my most amazing ideas.
