Since 2008, I've been deeply immersed in the beauty industry, and in 2016, I took the plunge and opened my own home-based luxe salon. Growing up, I was surrounded by a tapestry of subcultures and art communities, which infused me with a refreshingly creative outlook on hair. From a young age, my passion for hair was evident—my mom loves to reminisce about how I always had a brush in hand, even as a baby! It's this innate love for hair that truly lights up my world and fuels my creativity. Over the years, I've been fortunate to learn from some of the industry's most influential stylists, including Michael O'Rourke, Jonah Boyer, Melanie Bourne, Tony Ricci, Jules Tognini, Dawn Bradley, Sam Villa, and Kim Vo. My specialties include long hair, hand painting, curly hair, and vivid colours. Their mentorship has allowed me to develop advanced techniques and specialties in long hair, hand painting, curly hair, and vivid colors. I've had the incredible opportunity to collaborate on various avant-garde projects, where I get to push the boundaries of hairstyling. One of my career highlights was being a featured runway stylist for the Raw Artist’s REFLECT Showcase in 2019, where I fused music, fashion, dance, and artistry into an unforgettable experience. Drawing inspiration from the extraordinary, I curated a dynamic ensemble of ten models, each embodying an iconic persona. Collaborating with renowned makeup artists, we transformed models into living canvases, crafting looks that exuded drama and innovation. This showcase not only highlighted my expertise but also showcased my ability to curate immersive experiences that resonate deeply with audiences, solidifying my reputation as a trailblazer in hairstyling and creative expression. In 2018, I secured 3rd place at the Allied Beauty Association Battle of the Barber competition, Creative Freestyle Competition, Alberta’s largest trade show and educational event of the year. Competing on stage in front of a 300+ person audience, I showcased my creative prowess by executing a unique haircut in just 30 minutes, standing out among the industry's most talented stylists. But my journey doesn't stop there! In 2009, I had the pleasure of serving as the key hair and makeup artist for a delightful short comedy called "The Corporate Ladder". Directed by Michael Peterson and starring Patrick Creery, Stephen Hair, and Dan Perrott, it was an unforgettable experience that showcased my versatility and creativity. When it comes to running my salon, I like to do things a little differently (in life I’ve always danced to the beat of my own drum). Communication is key, and I strive to truly connect with each client, ensuring their hair journey is as unique as they are. In my experience the initial consultation for new clients IS truly the key ingredient to great hair. From personalized consultations to prioritizing hair health during the coloring process, I'm committed to keeping your hair looking and feeling its best. I always strive to create a relaxed and fun atmosphere for everyone I see. I love to give my guests an escape away from the hustle bustle of their everyday lives. I truly want you to feel more YOU by the time we are finished in my chair.
