Month at a Glance – July ☀️

Summer is officially here—and hopefully the sunshine will be joining us soon. As the season unfolds, bringing changing routines and often a busier, more spontaneous pace, this is a gentle reminder to check in with yourself and continue making time for rest, recovery, and caring for your body.

As you're enjoying more time outdoors, don't forget to protect your skin by wearing sunscreen, staying hydrated, and taking steps to prevent sunburn. A little prevention goes a long way toward supporting your overall health this summer.

If massage therapy is part of your wellness routine, I encourage booking appointments a few weeks in advance whenever possible. Summer schedules tend to fill more quickly, and planning ahead helps you secure your preferred appointment times while taking advantage of the Consistent Care Benefit, available when your next visit is booked within 2–4 weeks.

Updated Studio Hours – Effective July 1, 2026

My regular massage therapy hours will be:

• Every other Tuesday: 11:00–3:00 or 11:00–7:00
• Wednesday: 11:00–3:00
• Friday: 11:00–7:00
• Saturdays (typically two per month): 10:00–3:00

These adjustments are intended to better support both client care and the long-term sustainability of my practice while maintaining the consistency many of you requested in the client feedback survey earlier this spring. The online booking schedule has been updated to reflect these new hours.

Thank you, as always, for your continued trust and support. I hope July brings plenty of sunshine, opportunities to recharge, and moments to slow down and care for yourself. ☀️

Educational Update: Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT)

During my time away in May, I travelled to Denver to complete the Complete Lymphedema Certification through the Academy of Lymphatic Studies (ACOLS). I originally completed this training back in 2016, when it was known as Manual Lymph Drainage & Complete Decongestive Therapy.

Since then, I’ve continued to study lymphatic drainage through a variety of additional courses and instructors, which has allowed me to explore different philosophies, techniques, and clinical approaches. Even though I felt confident in my knowledge and hands-on experience working with clients living with lymphedema and lipedema, I made the intentional decision to revisit and "renew" this certification.

My goal in doing so was to deepen my foundation, reinforce best-practice approaches, and open doors to further advanced training opportunities. I’m especially looking forward to continuing education through ACOLS and expanding my work in this area even further.

Sharing a few glimpses from the classroom and study experience as well—such a meaningful reminder that learning in this field is truly ongoing.💛

☀️ Sun Safety Reminder ☀️

With the warmer weather here, it’s a great time to remember that your skin can be more sensitive to the sun after a massage — especially if massage oils, lotions, or essential oils were used during your treatment. Certain ingredients can increase photosensitivity, meaning your skin may burn more easily with sun exposure.

This can also apply to essential oils used outside of treatment, including oils added to diffuser jewelry such as bracelets or necklaces, which may remain in contact with the skin throughout the day.

A few simple sun safety tips:
• Avoid prolonged direct sun exposure after treatment
• Apply and reapply sunscreen regularly
• Wear protective clothing or seek shade when possible
• Stay hydrated, especially on hot days
• Be mindful of citrus or other photosensitive essential oils on the skin

Massage and sunshine can both feel great — your skin just deserves a little extra care in between ☀️💆‍♀️

For anyone interested in learning more about essential oil safety, I’ll be sharing a link in the comments to Flo Aromatherapy’s Essential Oil Safety page. It provides helpful information on general safety considerations, including sun exposure, as well as guidance for children, pregnancy, and pets.

Massage Essentials & Etiquette: Products & Sensitivities

Please let me know about any sensitivities or allergies to scents, topical products, or environmental factors (such as strong pet dander or specific food triggers). Ideally, these are noted in your intake form, and you’re always welcome to update me if anything changes.

I will always do my best to minimize exposure to known sensitivities within the treatment room. However, please note that I work within a shared co-working space, and I am unable to fully control the broader environment.

The products currently used in my practice include Flo Aromatherapy massage oils (made with fractionated coconut oil, available in both blended and unscented options), essential oil diffuser blends, Japanese mint oil with arnica, and a lavender water linen spray.

For foot-focused treatments, I now use Eucerin Complete Repair 5% Urea, which supports hydration and skin barrier health while gently softening dry or rough skin. In some cases, a 40% urea cream may be used for more intensive callus or thickened skin care when appropriate.

I continue to use Flo Aromatherapy products for general massage work, chosen for their quality, versatility, and availability in both scented and unscented formulations to support client comfort.

If you have any concerns or sensitivities, please let me know prior to your appointment so adjustments can be made wherever possible to support your comfort and safety.

Sharing a look at June’s schedule, including studio days and any planned time off, as we head into the summer season ☀️

With school wrapping up for many kids and teens, routines and schedules often begin to shift. This can be a great time to prioritize self-care and stay ahead of summer busyness by planning your massage appointments in advance.

A gentle reminder that I offer a consistent care benefit for clients who rebook within 2 weeks or 4 weeks. These shorter intervals not only support your body in maintaining progress between sessions, but also come with a small thank-you in the form of a reduced rate as part of that ongoing care.

Many clients find that booking ahead helps them stay more consistent with their treatment plan, while also securing preferred appointment times during busier seasons.

There may also be some updates to studio hours and availability coming later this summer and into the fall, and I’ll share more details as plans are finalized.🌺

Client Feedback Survey Update

First, thank you for your patience with this update — I know it took me a little longer than expected to share the survey results and changes. I truly appreciate everyone who took the time to complete my recent client feedback survey.

Your input is genuinely valued and helps shape how I continue to grow and improve my practice. Based on your feedback, I’ve now added a “Book Here” button directly to the homepage of my website for easier access. I’ll also be announcing another change inspired by your feedback shortly.

I’m very grateful for the thoughtful responses, suggestions, and support, and I’ll likely share another feedback opportunity in 6–12 months.💛

Out of Office Reminder!

Just a friendly reminder that I will be away from the studio from May 15–25, 2026 and will have limited access to texts and emails during this time. Responses may be delayed until I return.

I also no longer have any appointment availability remaining before I leave, but I’ll be happy to help arrange bookings or reschedules for after May 25 once I’m back in the studio.

Thank you for your patience and understanding, and I look forward to seeing you soon!😊

May Availability 🤍

Here’s my availability for May as we move into a new month of care and reset.

Please note that I will be away from May 15–25, and will not be available for appointments during this time. I encourage anyone hoping to book around that window to reach out early, as spots before and after my time away tend to fill quickly.

As always, you can view current openings or join the waitlist if your preferred time isn’t available—I’ll do my best to accommodate where I can.

Looking forward to seeing you in studio this month 🤍

Walking for something bigger 🤍

I’m currently taking part in the Canadian Cancer Society’s Walk for Cancer, aiming to complete 50km this month in support of an incredible cause.

As of today, I’ve completed 7.78km, and it’s been a beautiful reminder that progress doesn’t have to be big to be meaningful—small steps really do build over time.

If you’re able, I would be so grateful for any donations in support of cancer research and care services. Every contribution makes a difference.

And if you’re not able to donate, I invite you to still be part of it in your own way—by stepping outside, taking a short walk, or creating a small moment of pause in your day.

It all adds up 🤍
