🚨 Human rights are not optional. When provincial governments strip Charter-protected rights away from vulnerable communities, it opens the door to a terrifying kind of politics for all of us. Yesterday, trans advocates and human rights leaders from across Canada just took to Parliament Hill to demand an immediate federal inquiry into the policies targeting trans youth in Alberta and Saskatchewan. As Fae Johnstone, Victoria Bucholtz, and Rowan Venedam made clear at the press conference: this is not just a localized issue — if we allow the Charter to be weakened for some, the rights that keep us all safe and free will soon exist only on paper.  We have been ringing the alarm bells of what is at stake when a government arbitrarily suspends its Charter of Rights against its own people — now it's time for the House of Commons to act.  🔗 Visit QueerMomentum.ca/Inquiry or click the link in our bio to send a letter to the Justice and Human Rights Committee and demand an inquiry today.
