We walked from France, over the Pyrenees to Spain, across the country to our destination of Santiago de Compostela. Then what did we do? We walked a little more toward the sea, and here we are, at “the end of the earth”! Here the great Atlantic Ocean caresses our feet. Oh these feet that have walked over 800 Kms since mid-April - how grateful we are for every step they carried us!

Throughout my camino journey, distinct calls of cuckoo birds emerge from protective forests. It as if they say “wake up” , releasing me momentarily from the “hamster wheel” of thinking into the freedom of Presence. I reflect with a smile, “who is cuckoo?”

Beautiful Burgos! 🇪🇸Cathedrals, wall art and a youthful vibrancy impressed us in our too-short stay here. We are keen to keep up our momentum in the momentous Camino Frances… so ‘onward ho’ we go!

Our rain ponchos become a refuge, drawing us inward into contemplation as wet feet slosh with each step, as if on auto-pilot. Then, the sun brightens the patchwork landscape and illuminates the path onward to the next welcoming village and cozy albergue (hostal). This is the Camino.
