Just say no to drugs.

Happy 4th of July from Zecke 🎉

He was on fluoxetine and R+ protocols for …two years with zero improvement
Eventually…he was supposed to be euthanized the day before he came to me.
One year later?
Zecke has a normal, happy life with his family.
Funny (actually not!) what can happen when we stop asking how to manage dogs and start teaching them how to live.

If you have a success story like Zecke’s, post it below. I’d love to see how many dogs escaped the same pipeline.

Happy Independence Day, buddy.

Does your dog enjoy personal play?

Personal play is an often over looked way to fulfill our dogs biological needs, teach important communication concepts and cues, and strengthen our relationship with our dog.

Personal play (wrestling) is one of the most natural form of play we can engage in with our dog, often what’s labeled as “mouthing” from puppies and young dogs, is just an attempt to initiate personal play as they would with their siblings in the litter. Dogs are born with a need to play using their mouths!

Personal play can also be a great way to teach clear communication, rules and boundaries under arousal. Whether it’s teaching our dog cues to start and stop the game, or letting them know if they’re being too rough, personal play is a great and fun way to establish these key concepts from an early age.

By fulfilling our dog’s biological needs, and teaching them clear communication, rules and boundaries around high arousal activities like personal play, we will strengthen the bond we have with our dogs and improve our overall relationship drastically!

Flexi leashes and e-collars are two of the most debated tools in the dog training world. Flexis are often labeled as unsafe, while e-collars are frequently misunderstood as harmful. In reality, many opinions come from people who have never used these tools properly or have only heard about them secondhand.

When used responsibly, both tools can be incredibly valuable.

A Flexi leash allows dogs to safely sniff, explore, and move more naturally while remaining under control in areas where a leash is required. It provides freedom without sacrificing safety.

An e-collar offers clear communication at any distance, helping handlers reinforce known behaviors and maintain reliability in real-world situations. When introduced correctly, it can be a powerful tool for building safe and dependable off-leash freedom.

Combined, these tools create an ideal training setup. The Flexi acts as a safety backup while giving dogs room to move, and the e-collar allows handlers to teach and reinforce off-leash skills before removing the leash entirely. This helps bridge the gap between traditional leash work and true off-leash reliability.

When introduced properly—ideally with guidance from an experienced trainer—Flexis and e-collars can help dogs achieve greater freedom, confidence, and fulfillment while giving owners the control and reliability they need.

Thank you to everyone who braved the weather and made it out for our first pack walk of 2026. It was great to see all of the familiar faces and to see all of the hard work everybody has been putting in with their dogs!

Our next pack walk will be on Sunday July 7th, location TBD, and it will be stampede themed, so bring your cowboy hats!

Yeehaw! and we look forward to seeing everyone there!
