Not really in the mood to post today….but we’re staying consistent.
So here’s a little herb moment. 🌿
Marshmallow root and Annatto seeds (once again)…two plants I’ve been learning about and slowly working into my soap making as I go deeper into this whole herbal thing.
Didn’t expect to become this interested in herbs, but here we are. ☺️
Okay so today I’m playing with a new herb… marshmallow root. ✨
As I keep learning more about herbs and skincare, this is one that’s known for being really supportive for dry or delicate skin.
One of the reasons herbalists love it is because it contains something called mucilage…which is a nerdy plant word for the natural slippery, gel like compounds that help soften and support moisture in the skin.
So obviously I had to try infusing it. 💯
This jar is going to sit and slowly infuse before it eventually makes its way into a soap I’m planning called Fresh Meadow, along with a really beautiful tea from a small business I’ll be working with soon. 😁
Little herbal experiments like this are honestly my favourite part of the process.
Quick herb run today. 🌿
I’m starting to work more intentionally with botanicals as I study herbalism, so trips like this are starting to feel very normal.
Today’s finds: Marshmallow root and Annatto seeds.
One will be infused for a fresh herbal soap I’m planning, and the other is for a natural colour infusion.
Little by little the apothecary cupboard is growing. 🤩
Tea lovers, settle a debate for me. ☕️ 🌿
Are you a LOOSE LEAF TEA person or a TEA BAG person?
I’m firmly on TEAM LOOSE LEAF. The leaves are usually less processed, you get a fuller flavour, and you can actually see the quality of what you’re drinking.
It’s also the reason I use loose leaf tea when I make my soap infusions. When you’re working with real plants, you get more depth from the botanicals.
Now excuse me while I enjoy a London Fog…and probably a shower with the soap that inspired it. 🧼 🌿
One thing about handmade soap?
It feels different.
It lathers differently.
It rinses differently.
It doesn’t leave your skin feeling tight.
That’s because small batch soap keeps its natural glycerin and isn’t packed with harsh detergents.
There’s a reason people switch and never go back. 😏

Okay, serious question….
If you could only pick ONE soap from our Core 5…..which one are you choosing?
I’m genuinely curious.
Matcha 💚
Earl Grey 🤍
Chamomile 🧡
Oolong 💙
Masala Chai 🤎
Drop your pick below. I won’t judge (unless you skip Masala Chai ☕️ 👀)
Some days I’m filming pretty soap reels.
Other days I’m sitting here calculating ingredient costs and praying March ingredients come through without a hitch. 🤞🏾
Running a small business (especially in Canada….IYKYK) isn’t easy or glamorous. It’s budgeting. Planning. Reworking formulas. Staying patient.
But….I believe in what I’m building. And that’s enough to keep me going.
Spent the afternoon cleaning out my mini lab cupboard or what I like to call my mini apothecary.
Clays in one corner.
Teas in another.
Herbs I forgot I bought last year. 🫣
Just me sorting through ingredients and organizing this little herbal chaos.
This is the BTS of . Nothing glamorous. Just plants, powders, and purpose. 🌱 🤍
