Another furry blanket done!! I know it’s hard to get terribly inspired for cozy blankets when it is sweltering outside, but winter will be here before we know it😞 These blankets are perfect for snuggling under on a cold winter night ⛄️ 🔥

So for a change I knit an all fur blanket. This blanket is so cozy and soft that I’m definitely making one for me (when I get a chance)!

Sometimes I become a case study for my own essential oil blends. This is one of those times. I slipped going down a gravel hill and landed on my knee (upper picture). Fortunately I had my Bruise/Cut blend with me. I applied it twice daily and 2 weeks later my knee is significantly improved (lower picture). I will continue to apply it to promote continued healing and reduce any scarring. Feel free to contact me if you’d like more information on this or any other oil blends.

The second stop was Drumheller and dinosaur provincial park. Another stroll through the badlands near the Royal Tyrell Museum. I find it so fascinating that we have such diversity in our landscapes in this country. And the badlands absolutely mesmerize me😊

My adventure yesterday was a 2 parter. The first stop was at Horseshoe Canyon. This place always amazes me, you’re driving along through near prairie like conditions with miles and miles of canola fields and then there’s a sign on the highway Horseshoe Canyon. It’s hard to believe there is any sort of landmark around there. About 100m off the highway you get out of the car and walk about 20ft and suddenly there’s this wondrous canyon!!! As I was looking out over it I would not have been surprised to see a dinosaur amble around a corner. You truly can envision the dinosaurs living there. This time I was able to walk down into the canyon and wander about. The pictures really can’t capture the magnificence of this place.

It was so smoky last night and this morning that you could smell it even with the windows closed and you could barely see anything across the street. And the wind was whipping through too. So I had thought I’d stay low on my hike today, then, around 11:00 there was a bit of sun on the top of Sulphur Mountain so I decided to hike up there. It was still a little smoky but not too bad. By the time I got home the sky was clear and the view from the deck was breathtaking

Today was a spa day for Happy and I! Happy had a bath and a brushing and now he’s so fluffy! And I went to Remedy Banff for a massage and acupuncture facial. Thank you Mindy for the recommendation, it was lovely. We are both feeling relaxed and rejuvenated 💕

Today I went to Lake Louise to do one of my favorite hikes, up to the Tea House and the Big Beehive. It started out very foggy but burned off up at the Tea House. Unfortunately there was still cloud cover so the breathtaking views weren’t available. It was still beautiful to be up above the clouds in the sunshine. The hike down through the clouds was both refreshing and peaceful. And ahhh the wonderful smell of a pine forest after a rainfall❤️

Today Thompson and I hiked Tent Ridge trail. This is a 10km(ish) trail with 830m of elevation. This trail defies description, it challenged my conditioning and my comfort zone. It was approximately 7.5km uphill with hiking in the trees, scrambling (hikers word for climbing up rocks and mountains that aren’t steep enough for ropes but scary just the same) and walking along a ridge. I never in my life thought that I would hike high enough to hike along a ridge!! And then it was 2.5km to get down from the top. With Thompson’s guidance and encouragement I was able to accomplish this feat. My knees are a little sore but all in all I’m pretty amazed with what I accomplished.

This morning Happy was determined to take me for a walk along the Bow River where this beautiful Art in Nature trail is. So many lovely art installations and inspirational sayings. Such a beautiful way to start the day❤️
