This week is beautifully FULL!

✨Quick trip to Ottawa for a fabulous wedding
✨Moderating the Mayoral Conversation The Hamilton Club
✨Finalizing some big plans for Excel In Style
✨Hosting the flag raising City of Hamilton for Nigerian Association of Hamilton Independence Day Ceremony
✨Joining Robin Lennox for “Clean Up The Soot” virtual townhall
✨ Hosting Eat & Argue Club
✨ Being a celebrity judge at the Summit Station Dairy Milk & Cookies Festival | one of the happiest places in this city!
✨ My mentor’s 50th birthday celebration!
✨ Et cetera, et cetera…

There will always be something that didn’t go the way you hoped. Something irritating. Something delayed. Something that takes a little more out of you than you wanted to give. Loss. Betrayal. People devoid of integrity…

But there is also SO MUCH GOOD.

And I refuse to let what’s frustrating me take up more space than what’s flourishing around me. If you’re with me, let’s do this! 💪🏾⚡️🥂

Last night’s private opening of Good Nerd Gallery was glorious!

I am so proud of my peoples, Erin and Rafal Tomczuk for making this dream a reality! Exceptionally proud of this new addition to the art scene here in Hamilton and the opportunities a space like this presents for the abundance of talent that we have in this city! Well done you two! Well done!!

It brought me maximum joy to see a lot of folks I hadn’t seen in a minute because this summer almost consumed me! lol! The most wonderful, ridiculously talented Professor Chris Hall The first friend I made in Hamilton Nathan Eugene Carson The lovely Marta Hewson . Photographer who is always a joy to be around! Georgie from I FIORI who I spent a bit of time chatting with but somehow didn’t get a single picture of 🤣 Sara Ernest in the most delicious colours and glowing energy… and sooo many more!

Mind you, lewis mallard has intrigued me for many years! How delightful to be immersed in his work on this beautiful night! I have a very funny picture of us from a Masquerade Gala event many years ago.. I should share it lol!

I love all of this! Love that we are so blessed in this city! Love that the art community is growing, thriving and connected, and I love that two people who I love have done something meaningful and wonderful in and for this community!

And then there’s Supercrawl this weekend led by a powerhouse Directaaaaa Lisa La Rocca whoooosh🔥✨

Summer was good to me!!

I did all the things I set out to do and then some! Every moment was spectacular!

What I am most, most proud of is the love I experienced, the love I gave, the love I shared and the love I received. In all its forms, it was pure bliss!

In this very moment, I was a very happy girl, completely oblivious to the words behind me. But how truly awesome and true they are:

LOVE GROWS WITHIN!!!

Love grows within me. Love grows within us all.

Let this be the goal; grow it, give it, share it, and remember to receive it!

With this knowing, I’ve been living, loving and sharing! What a privilege to do so and do so FULLY!!

Every summer, as much as it behoves me, you can catch me at Nigerian Association of Hamilton Summer Picnic! This year was no different!

I am deeply proud of my roots! Deeply! Opportunities like this, that bring Nigerians and their families together are imperative to building strong communities. This holds true across all cultures and communities!

There is something incredibly powerful about gathering in celebration of our heritage, sharing our traditions, introducing our children to their culture, and strengthening the bonds that connect us to one another. Any community that desires to thrive must be nurtured through intentional spaces like these.
