DID YOU KNOW that a quick, brisk workout has been shown to give you a more effective and natural energy boost than a cup of coffee! ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿป > โ˜•๏ธ

While coffee provides a quick, artificial stimulant boost, exercise naturally releases endorphins and adrenaline that actively combat fatigue and increase long-term vitality. ๐Ÿ’“

So next time you need an energy boost, or to focusโ€ฆ get up, get out, lift something, move something, run and then complete your task. Let me now if you feel more energized and able to focus! ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป

๐Ÿ‘‚๐ŸปIโ€™d love to hear your experiences!

Letโ€™s talk about scar tissue, and how to make it disappear!

Healthy tissue has an organized, flexible pattern, scar tissue is laid down quickly and haphazardly.

This creates distinct differences in the tissue.

Structural Weakness: It is structurally weaker and less elastic than normal tissue.

Reduced Mobility: Because it clumps together in a disorganized crisscross pattern, it can harden, shrink, and restrict natural movement.

Visible Changes: Red, raised, puckered or stretched skin is common with visible scarring.

Massage can help break down scar tissue by breaking down deep adhesions, improve tissue flexibility, and increase blood flow.

It helps prevent stiffness, reduces pain, reduces redness and flattens raised scars.

It is NEVER too late! Massage can even improve mobility, reduce appearance and decrease tension in older, mature scars.

Iโ€™ve treated scars 6 weeks after they form and 40 years after they form! Your body Is always capable of healing. Let me remind it how!

๐Ÿงฌ The human body is an amazing machine that produces 25 million new cells every second! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ This process is called mitosis and is an imperative function of the human body.

Mitosis drives growth and development, repairs damaged tissues, is responsible for regeneration, replacing old cells, and ensuring genetic stability. ๐Ÿคฏ

Guess what is an essential component of mitosisโ€ฆ.. ๐Ÿ’ง WATER! It acts as the primary medium for biochemical reactions, provides the necessary volume and pressure for cell growth and division, and is critical for the structural integrity of the cell during the process.

๐Ÿคฃ Somehow I managed to bring Fun Fact Friday around to be about my favourite topic, water ๐Ÿคฃ

๐Ÿคฒ๐Ÿป Therapy Thursday ๐Ÿคฒ๐Ÿป

Does your trainer correct your rowing posture often? ๐Ÿšฃ

If this happens to you regularly it may not be a lack of strength on your part, but over active or tense muscles stopping you from reaching your full potential with this exercise. ๐Ÿ‹๐Ÿป

It may be tight hamstrings, lats, shoulders or upper back muscles preventing you from getting the full benefit out of your rows. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿป

If you are constantly getting this correction from your trainer book a massage online (link in bio) and letโ€™s see if I can help you correct that posture. โ˜บ๏ธ

๐Ÿ’ฆ The Rule of Three ๐Ÿ’ฆ

The Rule of 3 states that a person can live for 3 minutes without air (oxygen), 3 days without water, and 3 weeks without food. ๐Ÿ™Š

In general as humans we tend to mentally prioritize food ๐Ÿ• over water ๐Ÿ’ง but in reality water is far more important to the
bodyโ€ผ๏ธ

We can live 7X LONGER without food than we can without water ๐Ÿ˜ฏ So drink up ๐Ÿ˜‰

๐Ÿคฒ๐Ÿป Last week on Therapy Thursday when I posted about the importance of massage PRE and POST operation, a patient I treated YEARS ago responded with the above comment. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป

โ˜๐Ÿปโ˜๐Ÿป This, is exactly why I do what I do! I LOVE knowing that what I can offer people helps them feel better, function normally again and in this case avoid life changing surgery. ๐Ÿ’ž

Thank you for trusting me to help you. ๐Ÿ’– It is the most fulfilling part of my career! โœจ

๐Ÿ’– Anything that triggers you, is teaching you what part of yourself needs healing โœจ

I know that may be hard to hear but read it again. It isnโ€™t meant to reduce the validity of your feelings or belittle your experiences. Itโ€™s meant to put the power back in to YOUR hands. ๐Ÿคฒ๐Ÿป

If we allow feeling triggered to end at the feelings it evokes within us then we miss the value of the experience. ๐Ÿ’– We are human, we are allowed to have our reactions to things, there is nothing wrong with that. ๐Ÿซ‚ But if we canโ€™t also, after the initial response, look at it and ourselves and assess why something gets to us so much and try to slowly chip away at the underlying cause and heal it, then we will never learn from ourselves and improve our experience. โค๏ธโ€๐Ÿฉน

Sometimes, talking it out with someone outside of yourself who you trust with your emotions is the most helpful. ๐Ÿ‘ฅOther people are good at self talk. ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Whichever works best for you, it is important to take the time to do the work. Otherwise we just keep living the same painful cycle. ๐Ÿ’ž No one wants to walk around with their nervous system on edge.

๐Ÿ’• I know it seems hard, but youโ€™ve lived harder things. Youโ€™ve got this and you are worth the effort! ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿป

๐Ÿฉต Bullying ๐Ÿฉต

My daughter competed in and won her schools Speech Competition yesterday! ๐Ÿ†

Her winning was an exciting addition to this moment, but I am most proud of her for doing her speech in front of a room full of her peers (no younger grades were at the assembly) AND her bully. ๐Ÿฅฐ

The courage it took to present a speech about not only how bullying affects those who suffer it but also about why people become bullies and the emotional and physical effects it has on both children was all I wanted for her to gain out of this experience. ๐Ÿ’“

Her speech empowered her and others like her to take back their power! ๐Ÿ’ž It also cast a light on the data driven and statistical reasons that children become bullies. ๐Ÿ”ฆ

Her words were so impactful that a student who frequently bullies kids was brought to tears, which was heart breaking ๐Ÿ’” and it got me thinkingโ€ฆ.

How many parents donโ€™t know that their child is a bully? ๐Ÿค”

Turns out only 14% of parents whose children are bullies acknowledge that they bully. The key word here being acknowledge. Researchers found that it was hard to gage as parents tend to feel judgemental or blame when asked about their childโ€™s behaviour. The causes of bullying are well documented and researched so itโ€™s understandable that a parent might feel this way. ๐Ÿ’•

If you are concerned that your child may be bullying others there are some things you can look out for;

- Your child is aggressive or has difficulty regulating emotions.
- Your child frequently bullies siblings or young family members.
- Your child has a strong need to dominate or control
- Your child is very focused on being cool or social status.

This is of course, not an extensive list nor does it mean that if your child exhibits one of these characteristics that they are for sure bullying. This list is simply meant as a guide to lead you to start asking questions if you believe your child might be bullying.

There are programs available to help support you and your child. This doesnโ€™t have to be a lifelong experience for either of you.

I canโ€™t get my daughter speech out of my head. I hope this was enlightening and helpful to someone.

Have a Onederful weekend!
