September 30 | National Day for Truth and Reconciliation 🧡

Oxford County Pride acknowledges that we live, work, and gather on the traditional territories of the Anishinaabeg, Haudenosaunee, Lūnaapéewak, and Attawandaron peoples. This land holds their histories, languages, and ongoing presence. We are grateful to be here, and we recognize our responsibility to care for it and for one another.

Today we honour the children who never came home from residential schools, the Survivors, and the families and communities still living with the impact. We also honour Two-Spirit, Indigenous LGBTQ+ people, whose place in community was disrupted by colonization and who continue to lead, create, and thrive.

As a 2SLGBTQIA+ organization, we know that liberation is connected. We can't celebrate Pride without working toward truth, justice, and reconciliation. That means listening, learning, and taking action beyond one day.

Ways to take part:
🧡 Wear orange
🧡 Read the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's Calls to Action
🧡 Support Indigenous-owned businesses and artists
🧡 Donate to Indigenous-led organizations
🧡 Learn whose land you're on at native-land.ca

Every Child Matters.
