Yep, you read that right. More than half the world population has some “bend” to their hair.

This was one of my biggest disappointments when I went to college in 2012. I was just starting to work on my curls and was so excited to learn about them. Little did I know that we wouldn’t touch on texture at all.

So through working hands on through jobs, classes and education (mostly international), and so much practice, I’ve built my business solely on helping you understand your hair and feel beautiful in your natural way.

I believe things have evolved a bit in the hair schools on texture, but we have so far to go still. My goal and hope to be that slice of help and inspiration in this world for those of you with texture to show you how really beautiful your curls are 💖

This has been my holy grail for refreshing my hair the next morning! 🌟

This product has easily become one of most most used items in my hair routine. It’s a great product for wet hair as well (loving it on wavy hair especially!), but on dry hair mixed in with some Sweet Spirit leave in conditioner the next morning, it’s chefs kiss 💋 and the best part, I dont need to re-wet my hair the next day with it!

It’s got a very runny viscosity (similar to water) and then mixed with some moisture from the leave in, it smooths the frizz and plumps that curl back up.

Recently got to step away for the long weekend and enjoy some sunshine in California ☀️

Walking around LA makes me appreciate such artistic talent that the world creates alongside myself being an artist behind the chair. The colors, the statues, the buildings…makes me appreciate all of the really beautiful small details in the chaos that our world brings 🎨

The amount of products that I went through at the start of my curly journey is well, let’s say is actually embarrassing. Especially because I ended up throwing most of them in the garbage, such a waste of product and money.

I was so frustrated with product lines and that nothing seemed to work for me, not realizing that it’s actually understanding how these products actually need to be applied and set in our curls.

What works on me vs you vs anyone will be different!

So that’s where I come in, a good shaping for your curls comes in, and ignoring what everyone else is doing comes in.

Take every “curl” product with a grain of salt, they’re there to MARKET their product to you. And of course there are great ones, it’s just hard to sometimes find the one that suits your hair the best.

Curly Tip Tuesday! There isn’t a right way to dry your hair, but here’s some tips on both 💦

Air drying- more lived in style, less volume, more chance of washing sooner

Diffusing- more volume, more definition, more days out of your curls

It’s a lot easier to approach your hair with this technique when you’re looking for definition/volume without fully committing to the whole dry. This is my go to most days when I’m washing and styling for the first day. If I have the energy and time to fully diffuse, I will, but most days I choose this path.
