October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and this year, it means a little more to us at Harbour Glow.

Cancer treatment leaves its mark in more ways than one. And while every scar represents something endured, survived, and overcome, you don’t necessarily have to keep seeing it every day.

Some scars tell a story. That doesn’t mean you have to keep seeing them.

Throughout October, Harbour Glow is offering 40% off Port Scar Microneedling for breast cancer survivors.

Microneedling can help soften and remodel mature scars, improving their texture and appearance over time.

To be eligible, your port must have been removed, the scar must be fully healed and at least 6 months old, and you must no longer be undergoing active cancer treatment. All scars will be assessed before treatment to make sure microneedling is appropriate.

This isn’t about erasing what you’ve been through.

It’s about giving you the choice of what you carry forward. 🎀

Apparently, your face may be talking to your brain more than you think. 🧠

The Facial Feedback Hypothesis suggests that facial expressions don’t just reflect how we feel - they may actually help reinforce those emotions.

So what happens if you relax the muscles responsible for frowning?

Turns out, researchers have been asking the same thing. Studies of botulinum toxin injections into the glabellar (frown line) muscles have found improvements in depressive symptoms, including randomized controlled trials and systematic reviews.

So yes… there may actually be some science behind “Can’t frown, might as well be happy.” 😃

To be clear, Botox and Dysport aren’t substitutes for appropriate mental health care, and we’re definitely not prescribing tox for a bad day. 😂 But the connection between facial expression, the brain, and mood is pretty fascinating.
