Around 45, my skin and hair both got drier. The products I’d used for years stopped working. So I went looking for new ones.

Here are five things I’ve tried recently, rated on how well they worked for me.

If your skin and hair are changing too — drop your recommendations in the comments.

She hated her brows for years. Then her husband gifted her this appointment — and she came in ready for a change.

She travels a lot, so low-maintenance was non-negotiable. We decided on a combo brow: nano hair strokes to keep it natural, with powder shading to give her that long-lasting definition she can count on.

Three months later, this is what healed looks like. The colour settled beautifully. A few spots needed attention at the touchup. We also made the front a little thicker to meet her natural brow hairs. No more tweezing to match. No more filling in.

She’s looking at two to three years of maintenance-free mornings.

She’d already been through it. Brows she didn’t like from elsewhere, laser removal, starting over.

When she came in, she knew what she wanted — a straighter shape that wouldn’t make her look ‘mean’. What she didn’t expect was how much thought goes into getting there.

Shaping is the most important part of the entire PMU process. It has to be the right frame for your face and reflect how you see yourself.

Her natural brows were more arched. She wanted softer, straighter. So we mapped a new shape, talked about removing the hairs outside it to maintain the look, and she was in.

The result? Nano brows that softened her expression without changing her face.

Same woman. Softer story.

You know who you are 🙋🏻‍♀️
If you don’t want to use product to tame those brow whiskers, trim them short and even — like a hedge. Instantly more polished.

Not myself without my lashes. Pre-Glued ones make it easy.

There’s a lot that happens between the moment you leave your appointment and the moment you actually fall in love with your brows.
Most clients come in knowing they want PMU. But very few know what to expect once they walk out the door. The healing process is real, the emotions are real, and the result you see on day one is not the result you’ll have at week eight.
After 21 years doing this, the clients who have the best experience are always the ones who came in prepared. They knew their healed result would look different. They knew their skin type would play a role. They knew there would be a day — probably around week two — where they’d question everything. And because they knew, they trusted the process instead of panicking through it.
That’s why I made this carousel.
PMU is one of the best investments you can make in your daily routine. Waking up with your shape already done, never starting from scratch, a makeup routine that takes seconds instead of minutes — that’s the real value. But it works best when you go in with the right expectations.
A few things I really want you to sit with:
Touch-ups are not an annual subscription. Your skin needs time and space between appointments. More pigment is not always better — and a good artist will always tell you that.
Trends are temporary. Your face is not. The brows that will age the best are the ones designed for you — your features, your personality, the way you want to see yourself every morning.
And if you’ve never worn brow makeup before — try it first. Even for a few weeks. It’s the kindest way to prepare yourself for the transition.
If you’re thinking about PMU and want to talk it through before you commit, I offer free consultations. No pressure, just an honest conversation about what’s right for your skin, your face, and your lifestyle.

As an introvert, I always feel some level of apprehension walking into a room full of people where I’m expected to be social. Life has been busy lately, and I was dreading all of it — the prep, the setup, the takedown. Standing on my feet all day with a smile plastered on my face.
But this one was different.
Revival 6.0 was exactly what the name suggests — a room full of women showing up with their stories, their vulnerability, their warmth. The energy in that room made it impossible not to feel something.
What I didn’t expect was the generosity. Vendors and attendees freely sharing advice, support, and encouragement. Julie and I both agreed — this one felt different. More intimate, more genuine than anything we’d experienced before.
I’m grateful for every connection, every tag, every share, every purchase, and every kind word. I’ll be honest — I wish I had pushed myself to do more of this sooner.
So if you’re introverted, you’re building something, and you feel lonely doing it — just push yourself. Go out and network. The community you’re looking for is already out there.
