What if a craving isn’t something you need to figure out right away?
Sometimes we notice a craving and immediately start trying to work out:
Why am I feeling this?
What should I do?
How do I stop this from happening?
But there’s another option.
Pause for a moment.
Get curious about what’s happening.
Maybe you’re hungry.
Maybe you’re tired.
Maybe you need a break.
Maybe you want something enjoyable.
Maybe it’s a little bit of many different things.
You don’t have to figure it all out before you move on with your day.
Sometimes, simply noticing gives you a little more information.
And over time, those little observations can help you become more familiar with your own patterns.
What happens when you get curious instead of immediately trying to solve the craving?

What if there was a little gap between the urge to do something and actually doing it?
Not a long pause.
Not time to analyse.
Just a moment to notice.
You might notice you’re tired instead of brushing past it.
You might realise you really do need a break—and actually enjoy the opportunity to disconnect.
You might recognise something that’s been bothering you and realise how much it’s affecting you.
You might notice you’re genuinely hungry and then simply eat and enjoy the food.
Or you might realise:
I actually want this.
And you can still do it.
The difference?
You’re no longer simply following an automatic response. You’re choosing consciously, with more intention.
And that can be surprisingly powerful.
All in an instant.
This is one of the things we’ll explore in my upcoming live session:
Knowing vs Doing
When You Know What You Need… But Still Can’t Seem to Do It

You know you need a break.
But you keep working.
You know you’re tired.
But you keep pushing.
You know getting away from your screen would probably help.
But somehow you open another tab instead.
Knowing what might help and actually doing it aren’t always the same thing.
And maybe that’s worth getting curious about.

You know what would help. So why can it still be so hard to actually do it?
You know you need a break, but keep working.
You know you’re tired, but keep pushing through.
You know you’re probably not hungry, but find yourself reaching for something to eat.
You know what might help…
…and yet, somehow, you’re doing something completely different.
That space between knowing what might help and what we actually do is the focus of my upcoming live session:
Knowing vs Doing
When You Know What You Need… But Still Can’t Seem to Do It
In this session, we’ll slow things down and look at what’s really happening in those moments — what you’re responding to and what you may actually be looking for.
You’ll have a chance to practise a simple process for pausing, getting curious about what’s happening, and choosing what might help in that moment.
And that choice might be something other than food.
Or it might be the cookie.
The point isn’t to tell yourself what you should do.
It’s to create enough space to make a conscious choice about what you want to do next.
And here’s the thing:
It often takes longer to explain the gap than to experience it.
If you’d like to experience what this looks like in practice, choose the date that works best for you and save your spot.

Sometimes we know exactly what we're reaching for.
I want chocolate.
Simple enough.
But what if the interesting question isn't:
“Do I really want the chocolate?”
What if it's:
“What do I want to experience right now?”
Maybe it's a break.
Maybe it's pleasure or comfort.
Maybe it's something to look forward to or someone to connect with.
Maybe you need to move your body.
Or maybe you really do just want the chocolate.
That's okay too.
The point isn't to talk yourself out of it.
The point is to become a little more curious about what you're actually looking for in that moment.
Because once you notice what you're actually looking for, you can ask an even more interesting question:
What could help me experience what I want in this moment?
That's something we'll explore together in my upcoming live session.
When You Know What You Need… But Still Can't Seem to Do It

What if the pause isn’t about stopping yourself?
Sometimes we think pausing means we have to stop what we’re doing and figure everything out.
But a pause can be much smaller than that.
It can simply be a moment to notice what’s happening before you automatically move into what you normally do.
The next time you notice yourself reaching for food on autopilot, try this:
Pause.
Take a breath.
And ask yourself:
What led up to this moment?
Maybe you’re tired.
Maybe you’re stressed.
Maybe you’ve been working for hours and need a break.
Maybe something happened that changed how you’re feeling.
Or maybe you’re not quite sure.
You don’t have to figure it out.
You don’t even have to change what you do next.
Just notice.
Sometimes the awareness that supports a conscious choice begins in the moments we usually move past.

What if knowing what would help isn’t the problem?
You know you need a break.
You know rushing through lunch isn’t helping.
You may know you’re exhausted or feeling stressed.
You may already know you want to do something different.
And yet... sometimes you still fall back into an old pattern.
Or keep going because stopping feels impossible in that moment.
That gap between knowing and doing is something I’ve been thinking a lot about lately.
Because that moment can be brief—and easy to miss.
Rather than chasing another tip or new strategy, what might actually help is a chance to slow down, understand what’s getting in the way, and notice what might interrupt that automatic response.
That’s something I’m exploring more deeply in the live session I’m putting together.
More to come. 💙

🌥️ Weekend Reflection
Sometimes the most meaningful changes begin with simply noticing.
Looking up.
Taking a breath.
Seeing something that was there all along.
I took this photo on one of my walks and love pausing to notice the shapes in the clouds.
The cool thing is, we often don’t see the same thing. I see someone sitting among the clouds… what do you see?
👇🏽 Comment below and tell me what you notice.
I hope you found a moment to notice something beautiful this weekend. 💙

We often respond to cravings in one of two ways:
Fight them.
Or satisfy them.
But what if there’s another option?
Sometimes a craving may be asking for something beyond food.
This week, try asking:
What might this craving be trying to tell me?
Not to judge it.
Just to understand it.

Have you ever finished a meal and still felt like something was missing?
This week I’m exploring the difference between feeling full and feeling satisfied.
They’re not always the same thing.
