It was our closing ceremony for the boys school year today and we couldn’t nail a proper posed picture…Which is par for the course these days. There is no perfection to be had while our chaotic existence swirls around us. It’s like the other day Matt spilled medicine on the white carpet. The liquid was beet red and Matt (to his energetic credit) got right on it scrubbing and cleaning and treating the stain. It didn’t work. I put the kids to bed and then went to hang with my frustrated husband. I sat down next to him and shared what I had been thinking lying there in the dark, waiting for the boys to fall asleep, staring at the mark on the floor: One day, we are going to leave this house and we will look at that stain and remember when our boys were still wanting cuddles before bed, our loved ones were all thriving and healthy, our bodies worked the way we wanted them to (minus a few knees) and we were so lucky to love and be loved in this home of ours. Tears streaked my face as I said this to Matt and he saw what I meant. That stain, these moments, where everything seems untenable, overwhelming and unsustainable, are a gift. A memory marked in time of the beautiful life we have lived. Another year of school done. Another momentous occasion marked with imperfection and unbridled joy. Just another beautiful stain on the carpet. ♥️

What a night! Watching my hubby and team in action was incredible (so was getting to see , Mark Paul Gosselar, and to meet - who is lovely btw!). Canadian content is truly having its day and it’s wonderful to see that it is being recognized around the globe. Congrats to all involved and thank you for always bringing me along, making your family proud and staying true to who you are! 💙

3. Polka dots are the pattern of the moment (I just have seen 7 polka dots outfits!)
4. I wish I was friends with
5. Seeing my fam out and about is epic
6. A perfectly wonderful Girl dinner can also be Nibs and popcorn
7. The Disney Team knows how to throw a seriously fabulous and aesthetic event
8. I am obsessed with new song from the movie
9. Speaking of the movie it’s exactly what you think it will be
10. Being an intern at W Magazine in 2002 was one of the highlights of my life and I love being reminded of that!
Let me know what you think of the movie once you see it! 🍿 🎥 ♥️

Another CAFA in the books and this year felt extra special. The Canadian Arts and Fashion Awards is a night that brings together the best and brightest in the industry to celebrate and acknowledge the amazing talent we have in our country. It is a privilege to stand up and get a chance to be a voice of the organization and interview so many bright stars in our nation. Add in that this year the awards were held for the first time in my hometown of Montreal and that I was there not only there as the official red carpet host, but also representing in my role as an executive at Tag/Dentsu which is the Content Production Sponsor for CAFA this year. It was a convergence of so much of what matters in the industry- it truly was magic. And the best part… being backstage chowing down on my poutine between interviews! Special thank you to for always holding everyone up and for trusting me with what I consider a tremendous honour, to & for believing in Canadian arts and fashion and to for being a super addition to the team this year! Congrats to all the honourees, nominees and winners and to the fabulous people who work tirelessly behind the scenes to make sure we champion the homegrown talent that continues to flourish, grow and impress!
Bonsoir CAFA, indeed!

A year in review and what a year it’s been. Epic and exciting career shifts (for both Matt and I), tons of travel (Greece, St Barths, Maine, Seattle, Cali, France, New York), tons of family time and special moments (10 years married and a 10 year old! And a new ACTRA member in our family!) along with the struggles that we all deal with behind closed doors and sometimes wide open (Remember when Matt and I had two surgeries two weeks apart- a brilliant idea lol). It’s in moments of reflection like today that I am thankful for the amazing friendships I cherish, the loving family that surrounds us (even from afar) and the little crew Matt and I have in those two amazing McGowan men we are guiding through the life (or at least trying our best to!). Here’s to another year of adventure, celebrations and hurdles that are met with love, grace and community. Happy new year!

Get ready with me in Los Angeles! Wearing an Ed Hardy skirt that brings back so many memories. So fun fact: Matt and I dated when I was in my mid twenties and I even moved to LA to be with this New Yorker. Our life in LA was pretty simple- I worked in Commerce, LA (I was evading being a lawyer and went to work at a bag manufacturer with accounts like Target and Walmart- you were my fave!) and Matt was working out of San Clemente running PropertyRoom, a police auction site. We spent our weeks in our apartment in Newport and our weekends hanging with and in West Hollywood- nights spent with the likes of and at the Dime and the Kibbitz Room. Ed Hardy was taking over and I was living my best life as a Cali girl. Twenty years later and we now go to LA every Christmas with our two boys to visit Zach & Emily and their FOUR(!) kids. It’s pretty special to have that kind of history with your hubbies fam! So, yes, maybe my new Ed Hardy skirt is a just walk down memory lane, but it’s a pretty awesome, and sunny, lane to walk down. ❤️

Merry Christmas and happy holidays to all those celebrating in one way or another. I haven’t felt much like posting lately and have felt a heaviness to the world that was weighing me down. But it’s days like this, filled with silly moments, family fun, a dash of chaos and a sprinkling of humour that remind us all to enjoy and appreciate it all. Happy holidays and may this year be filled with hope, laughter and Matt’s reindeer impressions 😂.
