Lors de la soirée d’hier, à l’occasion du 20e anniversaire du programme Focus du Conseil des écoles catholiques du Centre-Est, nous avons eu le privilège de rencontre, Marie-France Lalonde, députée d’Orléans.
Cette rencontre a été l’occasion d’échanger sur l’importance d’initiatives communautaires qui favorisent l’apprentissage, l’inclusion et le développement des jeunes. Nous avons notamment discuté de l’impact des programmes de tressage offerts par Allysbraids, qui vont bien au-delà de l’apprentissage d’une compétence. Ces programmes créent des espaces de rencontre, de partage et de découverte culturelle, tout en favorisant la confiance en soi, l’entrepreneuriat et le développement de compétences pratiques.
Nous avons également souligné l’importance d’ouvrir davantage de portes à l’intégration des cultures dans nos écoles et nos communautés. À travers le tressage, les jeunes découvrent l’histoire, les traditions et la richesse de différentes cultures, tout en développant le respect, l’ouverture et l’appréciation de la diversité qui fait la force de notre société.
Chaque tresse raconte une histoire, chaque atelier crée des liens, et chaque jeune formé contribue à bâtir une communauté plus inclusive et plus forte. 💜
Last evening, during the 20th anniversary celebration of the Focus Program from the Conseil des écoles catholiques du Centre-Est, we had the privilege of meeting the Member of Parliament for Orléans.
The evening provided an opportunity to discuss the importance of community initiatives that promote learning, inclusion, and youth development. We spoke about the impact of the braiding programs offered by Allysbraids, which go far beyond teaching a skill. These programs create opportunities for connection, cultural exchange, and personal growth while helping participants build confidence, entrepreneurial skills, and practical hands-on experience.
We also highlighted the importance of creating more opportunities for cultural integration within our schools and communities.
