Following up on our earlier post today, we wanted to clarify one part of our message.
We are not happy about what happened to Indigenous children, survivors, families, and communities through the residential school system.
What we are glad to see is more people listening, believing survivors, acknowledging the truth, and taking responsibility for meaningful repair. Indigenous communities and survivors have carried and spoken these truths for generations. They should never have been hidden or denied.
We honour the survivors, remember the children who never returned home, and recognize that truth and reconciliation require ongoing learning, accountability, and action.

Reconciliation is not limited to one day. It is an ongoing responsibility to keep learning the truth, to support Indigenous voices, and to carry that understanding forward.
