1. Hot showers
Hot water dries out your skin, causing your tan to fade faster. Stick to lukewarm showers.
2. Skipping moisturizer
Hydrated skin = a longer-lasting tan. Moisturize morning and night with a fragrance-free lotion to help your tan fade evenly instead of patchy.
3. Using the wrong body wash
Some body washes like dove contain sulfates, mineral oils, or other harsh cleansing ingredients that can shorten the life of your tan. Choose a gentle, sulfate-free cleanser whenever possible.
Bonus tips that make a big difference:
🥥Avoid exfoliating until you’re ready to remove your tan.
🐚Chlorine and long swims can fade your tan more quickly.
🫶🏼Pat your skin dry with a towel instead of rubbing.
🤎Wait at least 24 hours before shaving if possible, and always use a fresh razor with a moisturizing shave gel.
A few small changes can easily add 2–4 extra days to your tan and help it fade much more evenly.
