Cradled Wellness

Things in our counselling offices that have clinical significance.

Every journey is different and the support should be, too.
There’s no one-size-fits-all approach to counselling. Your experiences, needs, goals, and pace are uniquely yours.

Together, we can explore different strategies and find the support that feels right for you.

Counselling isn’t a cookie-cutter approach. It’s a collaborative process shaped around you.

Being

Today was a day of reflection. But the conversation doesn't stop there.

Today we wear orange, but everyday we are reflecting and having tough conversations:

•How do we make our space "safer" when spaces like these historically haven't been safe for Indigenous people.

•Have past experiences with health or social services affected how comfortable a person feels here?

•Openly talking about the harsh realities of systemic barriers.

•How do we support in closing gaps and access to care?

•What power do I hold in this interaction, and how can I reduce its effects?

• Is our service accessible and culturally safe?

We encourage you to have the same conversations in your workplace. Not just on orange shirt day, but everyday.

🌿✨ We received the news today that MNS launched a new Mental Wellness Program.
We know the real impacts that were had when their initial mental health program ended, so this is welcome & relieving news for many in the Métis community.

"The Métis Mental Wellness Program provides eligible Métis citizens ages 13+ with access to direct billing of approved counselling and assessment services.

The program is designed to help reduce financial and navigational barriers to accessing mental wellness care and make it easier for citizens to access the support they need.

The program has limited funding available, and applications will remain open until funding has been allocated for each fiscal year. Should this occur the program will reopen at April 1st of the following fiscal year. This program will be available until March 31, 2028" (MNS)
