Cheslatta clan called for braids, and even though I was in a crunch myself, bet I will make it work for my Jack clan ❤️

So proud of this beautiful cousin of mine, heading off to graduation and representing another Class of 2026 graduate! 🎓✨

Moments like these remind me that our strength is in showing up for one another, lifting each other up, and keeping our traditions alive. Braids done, spirits high, and another young Indigenous woman reaching her goals.

It was an absolute honour to braid this young man’s hair before such an important milestone. Moments like these mean so much because they remind me that our traditions are still being carried forward by the next generation.

I’m incredibly proud of you—not just for graduating, but for embracing who you are and keeping our culture alive. Our ancestors dreamed of days like this, where our youth could walk proudly in both worlds while staying connected to their roots.

Congratulations on your graduation and all that lies ahead. Keep walking strong, stay humble, and never forget where you come from.

Nothing makes me happier than seeing our young people carrying our traditions forward. It was an absolute honour to braid your hair today. I’m so proud of the young man you’re becoming and the pride you carry in who you are and where you come from.

In a world that once tried to erase us, every braid, every language speaker, every cultural practice kept alive is an act of strength.
