When people see Braids By Jen, they might just see the braids. ❤️

But behind the braids are the kilometres, the long drives, the early mornings, the late nights, the communities, the people, the laughter, the stories and so much love.

Over the last 5 days, Braids By Jen travelled roughly 900 km — community to community, doing what I love and sharing my gift.

And today, I travelled another 500-ish km to come home and represent my family as we laid my uncle to rest. 🪶❤️

So roughly 1,400 km in 6 days.

That’s a lot of highway… but every kilometre had a purpose.

Some roads take me to the people I serve.
Some roads bring me home to the people I love.

And today, I was exactly where I needed to be — standing with family, honouring uncle and carrying our family love with me. ❤️🪶

This is more than a business to me.
It’s community. It’s family. It’s love.
And sometimes… it’s a LOT of kilometres. ❤️

There are some places that just feel like home, and Saik’uz First Nation is one of them. ❤️🪶

For the next couple of days, my amazing braiding team and I have the honour of being here, sharing our love of braiding, culture, connection, and community.

Every time we come here, we’re welcomed with such kindness, laughter, and open hearts. We are so grateful for the trust you place in us and for every conversation, every smile, and every braid that tells a story.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you, Saik’uz, for making us feel like family. We love this community and are so thankful to spend these next few days with all of you.

We can’t wait to create beautiful braids, beautiful memories, and continue building relationships that mean so much to us.

Yesterday I had the absolute honour of meeting one of my TikTok followers! 🥹♥️

I was just saying not long ago that I hoped one day someone would recognize me and say hi. Sometimes I notice people looking my way, and I wonder if they know me, but no one ever says anything.

Well… yesterday this beautiful soul came right up to me, was so excited to meet me, and we just had to snap a picture together! 📸

Moments like this remind me that social media isn’t just about views or numbers—it’s about real connections, shared laughs, and community. Thank you for making my day! ♥️🪶

I want to take a moment to share something very special about my little cousin, Carl Jr. 🪶

Carl has been given an incredible opportunity to continue his hockey journey with the Hanna Havoc USPHL Premier team for the 2026/2027 season. This is more than just hockey — it is an opportunity for growth, discipline, leadership, education, and building a future through sport.

Carl has worked hard both on and off the ice, and opportunities like this require a huge commitment from young athletes and their families. Junior hockey comes with many costs, including training, travel, equipment, and program fees.
