Beauty, chamber by chamber.

Two halves of one ancient story.

From Mahajanga, Madagascar, with an estimated age of 100–140 million years, this ammonite reveals an intricate interior beneath its outer shell.

Its spiral unfolds through a succession of chambers, each with its own quiet details. Honey coloured walls. Pale crystalline surfaces. Small cavities that invite a closer look.

There is mathematics in this beauty, too. Ammonite shells often approximate a logarithmic spiral, expanding in proportion as they grow. A graceful meeting of structure and life, preserved in stone.

What draws me to pieces like this is how much beauty becomes visible when we take the time to notice it.

Tiny blood vessels deliver oxygen and nutrients to living tissue. Alongside them, specialized immune cells help maintain the vessels themselves. Even your skin’s delivery system has a maintenance crew.

A 2025 study published in Nature found that these capillary-associated macrophages decline with age, leaving parts of this delicate network with less support. The researchers demonstrated effects on blood flow and repair mainly in mice, and observed a similar decline in these cells in older human skin.

It is a fascinating reminder that skin vitality involves much more than what we apply to its surface.

Circulation has long been part of my thinking behind Synchrogen. My attention to stimulation, professional light therapy and consistent care reflects a respect for the skin as living tissue, with interconnected needs.
Separate human studies show that facial massage and certain light treatments can increase local skin blood flow. That is different from demonstrating restoration of aging vessels, but it gives circulation a meaningful place in the facial wellness conversation.
