☀️ Heat Wave Alert! Keep Your Pets Safe 🐾
With the temperatures climbing over the next few days, it’s important to help keep our furry friends safe from the heat.
🐕 Try walking your dog early in the morning or later in the evening when it’s much cooler. Midday temperatures can quickly become dangerous, and hot pavement can burn sensitive paw pads.
Here are a few more tips:
💧 Bring fresh water on every walk.
🌳 Stick to shaded areas whenever possible.
🐾 Test the pavement with the back of your hand—if it’s too hot for you, it’s too hot for your dog’s paws.
🏡 On especially hot days, consider indoor enrichment activities instead of a walk.
Heatstroke can happen quickly, so if your pet is panting excessively, drooling, seems weak, or collapses, seek veterinary care immediately.
Stay safe, stay cool, and give your pups an extra belly rub from us at A Touch of Pawsitivity! ❤️🐶 #❤🐶

As we are coming into a heat wave in many parts of the country - know what to watch for in your dog and how to manage heat stroke. Best practice, however, is to keep your dog in the shade and well hydrated at all times. Walk early in the morning or in the evening when the temperature is cooler and avoid hot pavement as well.
AND!! NEVER leave your dog in a vehicle - temperatures can soar in seconds - even with open windows. Leave them at home - they might give you sad puppy eyes, but we promise that's preferred over heat stroke, which can take their life.

🍁🐾 Happy Canada Day from Touch of Pawsitivity! 🐾🍁
Today we’re celebrating this beautiful country we call home, along with the incredible people and pets who make our community so special.
As a proudly Canadian, Saskatoon-based small business, I’m so grateful for the trust you’ve placed in Touch of Pawsitivity. Whether you’ve joined a canine massage session, attended a pet CPR & First Aid class, or simply supported my journey, thank you for being part of this amazing community.
While you’re enjoying the celebrations today, remember to keep your furry family members safe:
❤️ Keep pets indoors if they’re anxious around fireworks.
💧 Make sure they have plenty of fresh water.
🏷️ Double-check that collars and ID tags are secure before heading out.
🎆 If you’re attending fireworks, it’s often safest to leave your pets comfortably at home.
Here’s to a fun, safe, and pawsitive Canada Day filled with family, friends, and wagging tails! 🇨🇦🐶
