Sooke Region Communities Health Network - SRCHN

Thank you to all the folks who showed up to Council meetings the past few months of Monday nights to emphasize community support for Sooke Gathering Place. Your efforts paid off.

Katherine Strongwind reports, "The Sooke Gathering Place took a major step forward. Council agreed to include the center in a non‑binding plebiscite and supported dedicating 'Lot A' for the project. This is a real opportunity to build a space that brings generations together, strengthens community connection, and reflects what residents have been asking for. Work with the SRCHN team and the community continues - they are doing a great job bringing this project to life!"

Now our work shifts to community and communications. Mary Dunn writes, "SRCHN now has a lot of work before the election to ensure a YES vote on the ballot -, showing support for the DoS to borrow money to help build the Sooke Gathering Place. SRCHN has already struck a communications working group and we have been working hard to get material and policies ready for this campaign. "
