You’ve heard me talk about how important aftercare is especially in the summer. Here is what actually happens when sunscreen hits your bright blonde extensions. They go salmon orange coloured and splotchy. This happens because of the ingredient azobenzene. It reacts and discolours the hair. The best course of action is to never let wet skin or wet hair touch after sunscreen is applied. Keep your hair up in a braid or bun. Thoroughly wash your skin first, then let your hair down to wash it. Apply leave on conditioner as well to act as a barrier. If all else fails call me and I can fix it! One of the biggest misconceptions about extensions is that matting just “happens.”
