STORYTIME WITH ROBIN: I bet you didn’t know, before I became a recognized Master Hair Stylist, my Father was a leading Lawyer in the UK. He was not happy with me wanting to be a hair stylist (he later came through amazingly ) SO I became a Police Officer. That’s me in the second row, behind the suit (with no hat on). Therefore, I have the highest regard for the dedication of the police force. But one of the things I hate is a ‘rotten apple’ in the pack. I became very friendly at training camp with chap who looked like Douglas Fairbanks, he had been in the British Army (stationed in Kenya) before joining the force. Seven weeks after police academy graduation I was shocked to read that my friend and 5 other cops were arrested in Birmingham for burglary. In the news recently we have heard about similar criminal activity by members of the police force. I find this disturbing, however even more disressing has been the recent murders of Ontario Police Officers. In closing, I wish the very best to Chief Myron Demkiw who has a tough job ahead of him. I had a blast at my bestie Jaymz’s annual Caravan of Music, held at the Old Mill. There were over 100 Jazz musicians playing in different rooms. A record amount was raised for Unison (a charity that helps Musicians on hard times). All in all it was a 10/10 event!
