This little guy is amazing. I shared that he was in an accident last week, I also wanted to share what I am doing to support his recovery. Thanks to the amazing he is taking arnica and symphtum twice daily. And today he had an osteopathic session with Cassia Rocha (btw she is also the one helping to heal my lower back injury). She is truly amazing and yes he did fall 😓.

I am grateful to have the crew practically at my door steps. They feel like family. šŸ™šŸ»šŸ™šŸ»šŸ™šŸ»

So at the start of COVID I would say ā€œDon’t do that, we can’t go to the emergencyā€. Well we made it over 4 months before this happened šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

Apologies for this long post but wanted to share if it helps some other parents. We have been supportive of our 6 year old being vegetarian over the past few months as his reasons were 1) animal rights 2) he felt he wasn’t able to digest meat. Problem was we haven’t been able to get enough fats and protein in him to not compromise his development. My naturopath is a strong believer in eating based on your blood type. So I took my scientifically minded child to see her and she explained the concept to him and asked if he would like to find out his blood type. He was very keen on the ā€œexperimentā€. He is B positive and now we are delving into which foods are best for him, some meats, he is right, we would avoid but now he is open to re-introducing certain meats (explaining mommy only buys high-quality organic meets from farms where the animals have been treated well and given a nice life - both my boys appreciated that). All this to say is if you want to give your children independence their are creative ways to influence their decisions šŸ˜‰keep you posted on how my experiment goes.

First day of spring! Can you smell it in the air? Spring makes me think of rebirth and starting anew. I made a commitment to myself if waking up early to workout. Do you take commitments to others more seriously than commitments to yourself? I know that I do but want to change that and equally value the commitments I make to myself..or maybe even more šŸ˜‰ I had set my alarm to wake up early this morning but last night my LO asked to sleep me with and I couldn’t say no, that wasn’t the problem. At 3am he tabs me on the shoulder saying ā€œmama, I wet the bedā€. 😢for mamas out there you know what’s it’s like, take sheets off, put in washing machine, put on clean sheets and try to get back to sleep. I couldn’t get back to sleep. So when my alarm went off, I turned it off and went back to cuddle with my LO. A part of me felt guilty, but another part said accept. What would you have done? Should I have stuck to my commitment?

I have been completely, ok maybe 99% disconnected, this past week and it has been amazing. It has given me more time for self-reflection. Slowing down and change in scenery bring clarity. In the coming weeks I have a decision to make and this time away has allowed me to reflect on what is important to me and some goals from a career, personal and family perspective. So important to take time to clear the mind. Seeing life through the eyes of my children is also inspiring. Nathan persevered as he faced new challenges and activities, conquering fears. There are no limits in life, only the ones we impose on ourselves.

So I spent most of my time on flight to Vancouver working but after a few hours I needed a break and the guy sitting next to me suggested I watch ā€œTagā€. Honestly it was great mindless comedy but the message range true...never stop playing I landed before seeing the ending but was just what I needed to reset before starting my day in Vancouver šŸ˜€

So wanted to share an update on how things are going after 21 days of starting my morning off with celery juice and not eating anything for 20min after. +seem to have better sleep, consequently waking up feeling more rested +PMS symptoms seemed to be reduced a few things I need to better understand 1. From day 15-18 I was having night sweats. Last time that happened to me was in postpartum 2. No change/improvement I BM. If anyone has any insights please share

I dream of the days of sleeping in on a Sunday....wouldn’t go crazy but 7am would be lovely. My kids went to bed later than usual and as per usual woke up even earlier than usual 😫only way to make it through is enjoying coffee while they fight over what they want to breakfast šŸ˜

Day 1 of celery juicing! I don’t have a juicer, shocking right?! So it was a bit more effort to juice in my and then strain but it works šŸ˜‰ keep you posted on how I feel. Benefits include anti-inflammatory, antioxidants to fight cancer and much more. Gulp, gulp.

2018 has been a year of ups and downs but through it all it has been about trusting instincts and learning to say ā€œnoā€ at times with no guilt....that is still a journey for me šŸ˜As I shared previously, one of my health goals for 2019 is to transition off my synthetic thyroid hormone. I will post my learnings and progress throughout the year as I am sure it will be a year of discovery. Thank you for recommending , I have been heads down past few days reading and it has reminded me my body hasn’t failed me, it is my best ally. Be and it has reminded me, I am my own health expert. I know my body best. If you don’t feel like you are your best self, health-wise. Be open to discovering how to achieve optimal health, question the norm, try and learn no theories. Wishing everyone all the best for 2019!
