CMU Graduate April 2017 Hello! My name is Calandra Hudson and i'm a makeup artist.
I studied Makeup arts at CMU - The Canadian College of Makeup Art and Design - from August 2016- April 2017 and have a diploma in complete makeup artistry. I've worked on over 25 films/music videos/ commercials as a makeup artist over the last 3 years. I have a background in film and theatre and have a BA[H] double major in both fields. I love all things gore, specializing in SPFX out of kit effects. i have a new found love for beauty makeup, and looking forward to doing more work with beauty and combining the two. I am classically trained to do makeup in film & television, fashion, bridal, theatre. I am also trained to do all kinds of beauty makeup, out of kit effects, period makeup, wig knotting, creature design and prosthetic design & application. According to facebook- a year ago today I did a Red Cross event where Pricilla Sui and I were under cover makeup artists. We had to do over 50 peoples makeup ranging from snake bites - exposed brains- bruised ribs- cuts - scrapes in about 3 hours. We then sent all these "injured people" in to surprise the Red Cross trainees. It was insanely rewarding knowing we were helping train extremely brave and talented doctors, nurses, first aid people and surgeons with makeup. Here are some of the shots I managed to get in the chaos of making up that many people. We were basically in a cabin in the woods so some of it was improvised on the spot, but was one of the best experiences I've had

These are a few BTS and stills from the 2015 music video Medicine by the extremely talented London Ont. based artist Casper Marcus. It was an excellent opportunity for me as it was my first music video to work on, but also carried a really powerful message about drug addiction. And yeah i hand made that vomit lol

In my Makeup college we had to create a made up disease. Mine was a flesh eating one based on the over consumption of PSL.
