Hello everyone. It's been a pleasure to have my business page on Facebook. However, over the last few years, having a business page on Facebook hasn't been rewarding. It's been one opinion after another. And they want me to pay and pay and pay. I’m not going to make any more billionaires richer.

When I go to Facebook (which is almost never), it's full of hate, propaganda, divisive opinions, fighting, and competitive toxic culture. It's not what it is or was. The ownership and purpose of Facebook have shifted. BSH Toronto as a brand has always been built on word of mouth, community, and integrity. Not about social media.

Facebook no longer aligns with any of that for me. Whisper luxury, and good stylists don't have to scream from the roof, post every day, and give you everything. ( social media might make you believe that or feel it's real).

Most influencers are broke; they are toxic, and it's all about smoke and mirrors. (Wait before getting mad.) Social Media is now about Multi-level-marketing. Selling a solution for a problem you don’t have. Making you pay to fix a problem because it’s says you have one. Good hair is not marketing, it’s relationships and facts. Not pics and dance videos.

Yes, there are some amazing people who do work online, and to those, I am grateful. It's just too much noise. You know who you are.

Good stylists don't have to tell people they are amazing. They are booked, busy, and blessed by God(s) (Allah, Buddha, Mother Nature, good energy, etc….) whom or whatever you believe in.

Good stylists, don't have time to post. I'm busy behind the chair building real relationships, making clients and guests smile in real life. Even if I don't take a picture or show what I'm doing. I don’t need to hold space for everyone anymore. I will hold space for those who are accountable and supportive in real life.

BSH is a private studio, so not everyone needs to know or see what I'm doing. Most of my clients don’t wants pics taken and they don’t need validation. Being public about their lives is a safety issue in 2026. So they don’t use it.

Feelings aren't facts, and facts aren't attacks.
Businesses existed before Facebook, and they will exist after. If a professional is good - they just let the work speak for themselves.

I have decided to shut down the business page on here.
( I’ll give it a week, by may 20th 2026, it will be gone)

FB does not generate revenue for my brand or viable long-term clients. To be honest, a lot of clients that have come from Facebook are not my type of client. The amount of opinions I see here are just not my vibe.

It's been wonderful for 10 years on here. I will continue to stay open in real life. Life now is about what brings value and peace. I have such a big, full personality, and it does not need to be on here to exist in real life.

So thank you. Comments are turned off. Because this isn’t about you sharing your opinion. It’s about me sharing my truth.

10 years.

Yesterday marked a decade since BSH began. (As I’m writing this I don’t know if the tears that are running down my face are relief, happiness, or the reality of how much it has cost)

I’ve questioned whether to post this, not because the milestone doesn’t matter, but because capturing honesty in a celebratory format feels tricky.

The truth is, this hasn’t been an easy ride.

There have been successes, breakthroughs, and moments of pure pride.

There have also been failures, burnout, mistakes, and lessons learned the hard way.

Building and maintaining something for a decade changes you in ways you don’t expect. It pushes you to your limits. It reveals strengths and weaknesses you never knew you had.

What I do know is this:

I kept going.
Time and again.
Even when it felt like I was lost in my own creation.

Over the years, things have shifted. Not always visibly at first, but deep down. My values, my work ethic, my aspirations.

BSH looks different now compared to when it started. I’m different too.

It’s more low-key now. More focused. More aligned with my true self.

That’s something I’m grateful for.

To everyone who’s been part of this incredible ride—clients, team, friends—thank you for your support and partnership.

So, here’s to the 10 years. Scars and all.

Across history, the most powerful art has come from people pushed to the margins—people society feared, misunderstood, dismissed, or tried to silence.

Artists like Kahlo, Rothko, Van Gogh, Miró, Basquiat, O’Keeffe, etc.

People whose lives were shaped by displacement, g3nocide, exclusion, and survival.

Communities who held their identity through oppression.
Movements that rose from the underground—punk, avant-garde, q***r, subcultural, and fashion circles that challenged norms and forced beauty to expand.
People who refused to disappear.

Across generations and across the world, those who were othered still rose.

They made meaning.
They made beauty.
They made truth.
They transformed the pressure placed on them into expression that changed culture.

This project is my acknowledgment of that lineage—
of the resilience, imagination, and quiet defiance that live inside anyone who has survived being othered.

There is beauty in being othered.
There is creation in that space.
This is where my work begins.

I said I was going to post when I got a minute. •

came to me 18 months ago. During our interview I said “ I’m so burnt out and tired and done. I just need someone to do this job, it kinda sucks and it’s not always the best or fun. I don’t know if I even want to keep it open. ” Little did I know that this person would completely change the way everything was done. Hannah took a disorganized mess and made it work. Changed everything for the better. Gave me the courage to keep leading, and helped strategize with me through some pretty challenging times. Hannah grew and came out of her shell, and has continued to be someone so vital and important to BSH. I have appreciated every coordinator I had. Hannah just got it, and continues to get “it”. Her new role is focusing on what she excels at. Making us look relatively less crazy on social media, marketing and strategy. Hannah will be working on Social media and keep helping with me all the fun and not so fun things people just done see. Any salon owner reading this will know how important your front end team members are. And when life presents changes in their life that forces them to change up some things…. I learned to pivot. When you get a unicorn KEEP THEM. I said I reject your notice and am changing your role. She said yes, So we did. Hannah thank you. Thank you for still being with us. Thank you for helping me find our new team member Eva. And Thankyou for being your awesome amazing authentic self. So our friends and clients: you may not see here everyday in the floor, but she is still with us. Hannah, our journey is just beginning and you have a fan for life.
