my eco-store has been a labour of love.

i've discussed the importance of moving your lymph a lot these days. in order to support your body's 'trash collector + disposal system' it's important to move your lymph every day via exercise and lymphatic massage done with a dry brush or a lymph paddle.

turmeric holds a special place in my spice cabinet + my heart. it's a powerful natural anti-inflammatory, that supplies the body with copious amounts of antioxidants. it's easily one of my favourite products on my eco-store because the oil infuses your body with so much goodness + gives off a beautiful glow.

they consist of about 𝟗𝟔𝟓 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐬! let’s learn more about this beautiful family of vine vegetables:

cucurbits include vegetables such as cucumbers, gourds, melons, squash, watermelons, pumpkins, chayote and cantaloupe.

cucurbits are of 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞 being a major source of food, 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝.

they are utilized for ornamental, medicinal, and nutritional purposes.

did you know that loofahs used for bathing and exfoliating are actually 𝐠𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐜𝐮𝐜𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐬?! yes, also apart of the cucurbitaceae family.

some of these plants represent some of the 𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐡𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲.

many cucurbitaceae seeds are rich in oil and protein, and are harvested and utilized for all sorts of healing purposes.

𝐧𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐮𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐛𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐚𝐞 𝐟𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲:

- did you know that 𝐛𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐦𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐧 is used in the treatment of malaria in south-western regions of nigeria? the plants possess antifungal, anti-inflammatory and anti-pasasitic properties, which are also used in wound healing.
- in turkish traditional medicine, the mature fruits are used for treatment of peptic ulcers, while the young fruits are used for treatment of diabetes.
- 𝐩𝐮𝐦𝐩𝐤𝐢𝐧 is widely used in ethnomedicine, the seeds are useful when treating sore chests, fever and bronchitis.
- an amino acid known as 𝐜𝐮𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐛𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧 which is found in pumpkin and squash seeds, are used to help rid the body of tapeworms and roundworms (internal parasites).
- the fruit of 𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐤 𝐦𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐧 is also utilized as a powerful treatment for chronic eczema!

mainstream marketing avoids bringing attention to these kinds of things, but take a moment to realize that chickens don't have bottomless amounts of wings. when you order a bucket of wings, there are countless chickens required to fulfill that order, up to 25 or more!

🌱 I can't believe an entire year has gone by since I opened the eco-store. sending love to everyone that has supported me during this most important launch year!

🌱 I think the first year, month, or week that you start something new is always going to be the hardest, you don't have the confidence that you build up over the journey yet. each year or step that you further yourself, the higher up the staircase you go and the more secure you become.
