We would much rather be making a “Sunday Funday”post today.
But sometimes a peaceful Sunday brings a different kind of post — one about loss, love, and the very special lives that have passed through our doors.
We recently said goodbye to four cherished companions.
🐾 Alvin was a very tiny dog who had been a big comfort and constant companion to his mom. He was so much more than a tiny dog. He was family.
🐾 Roxy was the elderly matriarch of a family of sweet little bundles of fur. She had spent her life surrounded by love and left behind a family who will feel her absence deeply.
🐾 Heidi was a rescue breeding momma who had endured far more than any dog should. Despite everything she had been through, she learned what kindness and love could feel like. In the end, her body — worn down by her past — simply could not keep going. She is now reunited with her soul sister, Penny, who also passed away earlier this year. 💔
🐾 And Benny was a sweet cat who was deeply cherished. His guardians were able to have professional photographs taken during his final days — a beautiful way to preserve the little face, personality and memories forever. ❤️
Four very different stories. Four very loved animals. Four families now learning how to live with a little more emptiness.
We are honoured that you trusted us to be part of their lives, even for a little while.
Today, we’re sending extra love to everyone missing a furry friend. Hug them a little tighter. Take the pictures. Make the memories. And remember that the love we share with them is never wasted. 🐾❤️
Rest peacefully, sweet souls. You mattered. You were loved. You will be missed.

☀️ How we spent our summer vacation…
We travelled. We explored. We relaxed. We made memories.
But honestly, this summer has been a lot.
With the anniversary of 9/11, a world that feels increasingly unsettled, politics that seem to be getting more ridiculous by the minute, and the ever-present reality of rising costs and financial stress… sometimes you just need to step away from it all for a little while.
So instead of talking about any of THAT…

Because whatever is happening in the world, a few seconds of summer fun and ridiculousness is probably good for all of us. Enjoy!

Soooo… how did everyone like the big storm yesterday?!? Astro’s face probably sums it up perfectly. We hope everyone is safe and no one suffered any significant damage. Our hearts go out to all the families with pups who are scared of thunder 🐾. Of course Susan’s neighbourhood got hit hard - thankfully it didn’t land on her house this time! Swipe-> for photo
