On Saturday, I had the privilege of doing Lisa’s makeup for the 3rd time. I first met Lisa in Sephora while I was working there as a beauty advisor, we immediately hit it off in store and I taught her a makeup lesson so she could prepare for her nephews wedding. Flash forward I got to do her makeup for her nephews wedding, will all of the products I had recommended her from when I did her makeup in store. This year she booked me to do her makeup to attend her daughter’s wedding (I had no idea it was her daughter’s wedding and showed up to a full bridal party getting glammed!) Lisa felt confident enough that she wanted ME to do her makeup, the biggest honour.
After lots of yapping, some happy tears and catching up after a year of not seeing her, I cried in my car on the drive home. The realization I had of I am in the right career, I have the BEST clients, there was a reason I got to meet her in Sephora that day.

Although I’ve been doing makeup for 9 years now, I still get in my head, I doubt myself, I question myself, I compare myself. Clients like Lisa remind us that we really are chasing our dreams and we really are right where we are supposed to be💗
