Same extensions, new look ✨

Just because your extensions are a little older doesn’t mean you can’t switch things up!

This client was ready to go fully brunette, but with her naturally dark root, I talked her into taking baby steps instead. After 15 years behind the chair, I’ve seen it MANY times — blondes go dark, love it for a minute… and 6 months later want their blonde back. 😂 And going back blonde is a much bigger process.

Instead, we added depth, toned down the blonde and kept some brightness for dimension. It’s softer, lower maintenance, and much easier to change again later.

Don’t be shy to ask what we can do with your existing extensions — sometimes you don’t need new hair, just a new vision. 🤎

✨ Not all blonde inspiration photos are created equal.

Before saving that Pinterest photo, take a look at the client’s natural starting colour. 🥰

This beauty is naturally around a level 9 (extremely light blonde), so her hair lifts to a soft, almost white blonde with very little effort. There simply aren’t many underlying pigments to lift through.

If your natural hair is dark brown or black, you may still be able to achieve a similar blonde—but it will usually take more time, more sessions, and put much more stress on the hair because we have to lift through many more levels.

Your dream blonde isn’t just about the end result… it’s about starting with realistic expectations and keeping your hair healthy along the way. 🤍

Summer is honestly one of the hardest seasons on blonde hair. ☀️

Between the sun, chlorine, lake days, hard water and heat styling, it’s completely normal for your blonde to start feeling dry, flat or overprocessed by the end of summer.

That’s why the answer isn’t always more highlights.

Sometimes your hair actually needs:
✨ A gloss to refresh your tone.
✨ A few lowlights to bring back dimension.
✨ A healthy trim.
✨ The right products at home to repair and protect your investment.

Healthy hair will always look more expensive than damaged blonde. 🤍

My end-of-summer essentials: K18, a leave-in conditioner, heat protectant every single time, and purple shampoo only when it’s actually needed.

Save this for your next blonde appointment. 💛

✨ Lowlights don’t automatically mean darker hair. 😉

One of the biggest misconceptions in blonding is that adding a few darker foils will make you brunette. In reality… it’s often the exact opposite.

When hair has been over-lightened and everything is the same shade, all the brightness gets lost. By strategically adding lowlights, we rebuild dimension and create contrast. That contrast makes your blonde look ✨ brighter, icier, and more expensive ✨—not darker.

Trust the process. Sometimes the secret to a brighter blonde isn’t more bleach… it’s more balance. 🤍

Healthy hair always wins. 🥰✨

This client has some of the finest, most delicate hair I work with. After years of blonding, we made the decision to press pause.

For the past couple of years, we’ve done nothing but a gentle gloss every 2–3 months to restore shine, strength, and integrity. 🤍

Here’s the part most people don’t realize: Going darker isn’t a quick fix. Hair doesn’t “heal” in a few months. Damaged hair needs time to grow out, and healthy blonding is a long game.

When her hair is truly ready, we’ll slowly work our way back to blonde—without sacrificing its health. Patience always gives the prettiest results. ✨🥰

Never underestimate the power of a partial highlight. ✨

The right placement can make all the difference. By brightening key areas and refreshing the ends where needed, you can achieve a high-impact transformation without committing to a full blonding appointment.

Sometimes, less really is more. 🤍

Sometimes, less isn’t more. ✨

To achieve this high-impact blonde, I used slices instead of fine weaves. I know that technique can make some stylists nervous, but when it’s paired with a soft backcomb at the root and a seamless shadow root, the result is beautifully blended—not stripy.

It’s all about choosing the right technique to create the biggest transformation possible in a single appointment. 🤍
