Bucket list location in Switzerland 🇨🇭
I have been meaning to check out the Aareschlucht Gorge near Meiringen in the Bernese Oberland region of Switzerland for ages. The Aare River flows through this narrow passage from Innertkirchen at the foot of the Grimsel Pass to the plain above Lake Brienz. The river travels through the gorge with an increased flow velocity of almost 12 km/h.

The walk from West entrance to the Eastern side is through tunnels, and along a cliffside path overhanging the water takes approximately 45 minutes depending on how many photos you stop to take!!
Some areas are super tight but worth the trek. The old paths have been replaced, which makes it safer for everyone.

Part 2 was across from Aareschulte Gorge to the Reichenbach Falls in Bernese Oberland, which is accessible by a funicular.

About the area, Quote:

It was here that the famous detective challenged his arch-nemesis, Professor Moriarty, to a duel – the fierce clash ended with a plunge into the depths. Into this very waterfall."

There's a Sherlock museum below at Meiringen.
I wasn't expecting to trek solo up the steep path to the top and over the waterfall, but managed to stay near other walkers & their families to be safe.

Exploring Zürich after lunching with my boys at Mit& Ohne. This time was with the keys to the city and a map to find hidden gems.

First, the Augusto Giacometti frescos at the State Police offices in Zürich... then to City Hall to grab the keys, whilst witnessing so many weddings!!

To the Water Church where the underground krypt was seen... to the new market where the historic walls were hidden behind the locked doors, then to the house where historic plans showing the walls & towers of Zürich can be seen.

Gorgeous day to be out in our home city, along the Limmat, having cake, coffees and meeting up with our eldest after work too.
