Not every closure needs to be loud. Tone-on-tone colour, proportion and a restrained finish can make packaging feel more considered without adding decoration.

Two products can use the same bottle neck and still need different closures. One of the biggest reasons is viscosity.
A thin shampoo, a dense conditioner and a hair mask do not move through the same or***ce in the same way. When we review a closure application, the questions are practical: How easily should the product flow? How much squeeze force is acceptable? Does the consumer need one-handed use? Will residue collect around the opening? Does the pack need to work upside down?
The best starting point is to test the actual formula in the intended bottle, not choose the cap from appearance alone.

After rotational features are turned, many mould components still need faces, pockets, slots and detailed surfaces that cannot be produced on a lathe. That is where CNC milling / fine engraving comes in.
A rotating cutter removes material from a fixtured workpiece to build non-rotational geometry step by step. In cap mould development, different machines are chosen for different features, the goal is not to use the most impressive machine, but the right process for the geometry.

Before requesting samples, send your supplier these 7 items:
1. Bottle drawing / full neck finish
2. Bottle material
3. Formula type and viscosity
4. Desired dispensing behavior / or***ce
5. Color and finish requirement
6. Expected order or annual volume
7. Target market and any compliance requirements
The more complete the information at the start, the fewer rounds are usually needed to confirm fit, appearance and function.

Not every mould component is machined the same way. When the geometry is rotational, a CNC lathe lets the workpiece spin while the cutting tool removes material concentrically.
For closure tooling, that matters on round inserts and other cylindrical features where concentricity and surface consistency affect how the final part is formed.
This is one of the quieter stages in mould making, but it is where geometry starts becoming steel.

4-axis CNC engraving enables our mould team to machine any geometry in a single setup. The workpiece rotates continuously while the spindle works, meaning undercuts, tapers, and curved profiles that would require multiple fixings on a 3-axis machine are handled in one pass. The result is tighter geometric consistency and fewer opportunities for cumulative error between setups.
For cap moulds with complex surface features — textured grip patterns, curved thread profiles, or contoured hinge geometries — 4-axis machining often makes the difference between a cavity that meets tolerance and one that doesn't.
