🌿 Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage
Have you ever felt puffy, heavy, sluggish or like your body is holding on to fluid?💧
Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a wonderfully gentle, rhythmic massage technique designed to encourage the natural movement of lymph fluid around the body.
Unlike a traditional massage, there’s no deep pressure or vigorous kneading. The movements are light, slow and flowing, working with the direction of your lymphatic system to help encourage fluid movement towards the lymph nodes.
💧 What is the lymphatic system?
Your lymphatic system is part of your body's natural drainage and immune system. It helps transport excess fluid and cellular waste away from your tissues and plays an important role in supporting your immune function.
Unlike your circulatory system, the lymphatic system doesn't have a heart pumping it around your body, so movement, breathing and muscle activity all help keep lymph flowing.
✨ What can MLD be used for?
A lymphatic drainage treatment may be particularly lovely if you're experiencing:
• A feeling of puffiness or fluid retention
• Heavy, tired or swollen-feeling legs
• A sluggish or congested feeling
• Stress and tension
• A desire for gentle post-treatment relaxation
