This morning is harvest time!
With the heat, the medicinal plants are fewer and fewer every day, but we still have some powerfeul medicine available in the garden and growing wild without leaving the property..
The most appropriate days to harvest the aerial parts of medicinal herbs are sunny dry days that the moon is ascending and is in an air sign.
Today the moon is in Aquarius and we find ourselves in the middle of an ascending moon.
This morning is an ideal morning to gather plants.

Con este calor, las plantas medicinales se secan y cada vez hay menos, pero aún quedan unos cuantos poderosos aquí en la huerta y en el campo cercano, sin salir ni siquiera de la finca.
Los días más apropiados para cosechar las partes aéreas de las hierbas medicinales son los días soleados y secos, cuando la luna está ascendiendo y está en signo de aire. Hoy la luna está en Acuario y nos encontramos en la luna ascendente. Esta mañana fue una mañana ideal para recolectar plantas.

AGUA DE SAN JUAN..🌸🌹🌸🌹🌸...
San Juan is the catholic version of a summer solstice celebration, adapted from the pagan and Celtic cultures…
Celebrated a couple of days after the summer solstice the Spanish celebration mixes many ancient traditions, including the gathering of medicinal herbs and a midsummer night bonfire.
On the evening of June 23rd I always go out to gather flowers for my Agua de San Juan.
I fill the bathtub with fresh cold water and flowers so that upon rising on the 24th it is ready for me to climb in.
Yesterday, fortunately, I was home,so all of these flowers came from here...
If I can’t manage a bathtub for whatever reason,at the very least I fill a bowl or wash basin so that I can wash my face first thing in the morning.
Tradicionally,the old ladies in Galicia taught me that the flowers should be gathered at the end of the day on the the 23rd so that they have spent all day “charging” themselves with the sun.
Quite the opposite of how I harvest for medicinal and cosmetic use, as the oils and medicinal properties drop down into the roots during the day...
But traditions are traditions...and I enjoy them

This past weekend I had the honor and the privilege to give a workshop to a wonderful group of women in the San Marcos castle in Sanlucar de Guadiana on international women's day, March 8.
We had an amazing day and fabulous weather.
Thank you so much to the incredible photographic skills of and and all the organization done by Egle and the local women's association.
I can't wait to return to your beautiful village again soon.

Este fin de semana pasado he tenido el horor y el privilegio de dar un taller a un grupo de mujeres increíbles en el castillo de San Marcos en Sanlucar de Guadiana el día internacional de la mujer, 8 de marzo.
Hemos disfrutado de un día espléndido con cielo azul.
Muchas gracias a las fotógrafas, anne_doula_algarve y eglekazdaily por sus imágenes y a Egle y toda la asociación de mujeres de Sanlucar por toda la organización.
