Treasures of Tutankhamun (Part 5/5)
Tutankhamun’s Clothing 👕🤴
This is a one-of-a-kind collection and the most complete royal wardrobe ever discovered from Ancient Egypt 🇪🇬
It includes more than 740 items, ranging from simple loincloths to exquisite ceremonial tunics, gloves, and even socks 👕🧤🧦
The main material used in the pharaoh’s wardrobe was linen. The clothing worn by the young ruler was incredibly fine, almost transparent, and exceptionally soft to the touch ✨ Tutankhamun had custom-made tunics, cloaks, and fitted garments tailored specifically for him 👑
In addition to textiles, the wardrobe also contained far more exotic materials 🐆 Archaeologists discovered genuine leopard skins used for ritual cloaks, as well as pieces of protective clothing, including elements of leather armor specially treated for durability ⚔️
It’s amazing to think that, thanks to these discoveries, we can see what an Egyptian pharaoh wore more than 3,300 years ago 😍💫
Treasures of Tutankhamun (Part 3/5)
Vessels and Statues 💫
They were meant to provide him with a comfortable eternal life. Ancient Egyptians believed that the afterlife was a continuation of earthly life, so the pharaoh would need everything he had used during his lifetime.
⚜️ Vessels symbolized supplies of food and drink. Through magical rituals, these provisions were believed to nourish the pharaoh’s soul forever.
⚜️ Statues – Hundreds of ushabti (magical servants) were meant to perform any hard work on behalf of the pharaoh in the afterlife. Statues of gods and sacred animals protected and guided him on his journey through the underworld 💫
For the Egyptians, a well-equipped tomb (“House of Eternity”) guaranteed that the pharaoh’s power, wealth, and prosperity would remain with his soul forever 😇✨
Treasures of Tutankhamün(2/5)
Ancient Egyptian “Formula 1” of Tutankhamun 👑🏁
1.⚜️ 3 gilded ceremonial beds from the tomb of Tutankhamun 👑
They symbolized the pharaoh’s journey into the afterlife. Decorated with sacred imagery:
✔️ Cow 🐮 (Hathor / Mehet-Weret) — protection and rebirth;
✔️ Lion 🦁 — strength and guardianship;
✔️ Hippopotamus 🦛 (Ammit) — judgment of the soul ✨
2.⚜️ Ceremonial chariots of Tutankhamun 👑
Richly decorated with gold, they symbolized the power of Egypt and military superiority.
In ancient times, such chariots were considered the “tanks” of their era — fast battle vehicles that provided a strategic advantage in warfare ✨
3.⚜️ +6 additional chariots of Tutankhamun 👑
Made of wood (cedar/acacia), plaster, and gold leaf. Wheels with 6 spokes for lightness and balance.
They were found dismantled due to the narrow entrance of the tomb. The collection includes 2 ceremonial state chariots and 4 lighter ones for travel, hunting, and battle ✨
The Coffins of Tutankhamun formed a complex multi-layered protective system for the pharaoh’s mummy🤴
It consisted of 4 massive wooden shrines, covered in gold leaf, and 3 anthropoid sarcophagi, placed one inside another like a nesting doll🪆
Inside the smallest sarcophagus was the mummy of Tutankhamun, along with his famous golden death mask👑
The shrines created an almost sealed “chamber” made of cedar wood, coated with gold leaf and inscribed with magical protective texts for the afterlife. The largest shrine measured approximately 5.2 × 3.35 × 2.75 m, and was so tightly fitted inside the tomb that only about 50 cm of space remained between its walls and the burial chamber 💫
The 3rd inner golden coffin of Tutankhamun and the black sarcophagus model of Tutankhamun 🤴👑
It was inside this coffin that the young pharaoh’s mummy rested for over 3,300 years. It is the most luxurious of the three coffins, made of solid gold weighing over 110 kg ✨
Tutankhamun is depicted as the god Osiris with crossed arms over his chest, and the surface of the coffin is decorated with delicate engraving and precious inlays ✨
It was on this coffin that the famous golden mask was placed, which became one of the most iconic symbols of Ancient Egypt 💫
The sarcophagus model of Tutankhamun was created to show what the burial chamber looked like. It is dark and decorated with golden stripes that symbolize sacred elements and help illustrate the royal burial in Ancient Egypt 🙂
And the real mummy of Tutankhamun still lies in his tomb in the Valley of the Kings (KV62) in Egypt, near Luxor 🫅
Egyptian “Mona Lisa” 👑
The golden mask of Tutankhamun is one of the most famous treasures of humanity.
It weighs about 10.2 kg of pure gold, is 54 cm tall, and is over 3,300 years old.
On the forehead are the cobra and vulture — symbols of power over Upper and Lower Egypt.
On the back are magical inscriptions and spells meant to protect the pharaoh in the afterlife.
The ancient Egyptians believed that the soul continues to live after death, and the mask was an instrument that helped the pharaoh transition into a divine state in the underworld. It was meant to transform Tutankhamun into the god Osiris — one of the main gods of the underworld, judge of souls, and a symbol of rebirth after death.
Itʼs mysterious gaze is why it is often called the “Egyptian Mona Lisa.” ✨
