A quick Q&A with .nixon on her haircare routine while she travels the world for 6+months ! 🌎 🌺
Q: given you have to pack so light, what are some of your haircare essentials?
A: it was so so hard to pack everything, but other than your basics of good shampoo&conditioner, a travel size hair oil, leave in conditioner was an absolute must! I spent a lot of time on the beach and that can be damaging!
Q: what does your hair routine look like on a typical beach day?
A: a good hair oil is a MUST for after being in the water. I try to use a leave in conditioner before I go in, and oils after. A good leave-in would have UV and some sort of sun protection so definitely good way to keep my hair from damage!
Q: what is your go-to method for when your hair is feeling extra dry?
A: every place I’ve been is different—some have hard water, soft water, etc but consistency is key! Using hair oils help keep my hair stay moisturized and I use it as a hair mask and leave it on overnight!

It’s farm-to-table (or hair) with us. We use ingredients that we had on our dining table growing up 🌾 and still to this day.
Rice, tea, fermented foods (obsessed with pickles now, but back then it was kimchi we had on the table)—and many more but looking at some staples here 💚

This is our grandpa 🤍 he’s been a farmer his entire life and although he’s much older, he still stays quite active. On his farm, some things we can find are yuzu, persimmons, and of course, rice ✨
We started KamiCha with a focus on green tea and rice because they were the staples on our families’ tables. Rice came from our farms and green tea was always a standard drink for everyone.
Starting KamiCha is a way for us to represent our family and in our own way, continue our family’s work.
We use ingredients that reflect our family and haircare recipes used throughout the generations, with our mission to bring confidence through hair—with some new ingredients found out on our farms 🤍🌱
