I covered a lot of ground in Paris

It’s hard to be sure that you picked the ‘right’ hotel from the gazillion options shown online but mine was great! Just one block back from the bustling Rue de Rivoli, this street is very quiet.
The very tiny elevator was great to get my luggage up to my room, but it’s much faster to just walk up the 5 flights.
I lucked out and got a room with a terrace with a lovely view of the rooftops and the nearby church dome. Bonus: cheesy plastic flowers to add some color.

Day 1: Stroll through Le Marais, where I stayed, past Le Centre Pompidou and up through Rue Montorgueil in search of dinner at one of the few dedicated gluten free restaurants in Paris.

Photo dump coming. Hard to decide how to categorize my pics. By day? By category?
First big adventure in a very long time and this time solo. Zevin’s home with Jordan, getting better but still with ups & downs and now finishing out his Junior year!
Stay tuned for Paris photos…

Brushing up over breakfast. Just 3 weeks until I fly out. Four days in Paris and then a week in Toulouse with and Pinch me!

These muffins are so good! Even though my oven died AGAIN, it was kind enough to wait until the exact minute that the timer went off. That’s the dead oven in the last photo. 👎
Sweet rice flour, buckwheat and poppy seed made a light, fluffy base and sweet nectarines have every bite a little unexpected treasure. Mmm.

My grandmother was known for her special version of macaroni & cheese. When my sisters and I were growing up she’d give each of my sisters and me a job to make it - cube the cheese, dice the tomatoes, grease the casserole dish (with a giant pat of butter). This one’s gluten free and has meatballs tucked in, but one bite brought me right back to her kitchen. 💗

The sun is out. Salad Nicoise sounds just about perfect.

Long work hours keep hubs tethered to the computer but they don’t have to keep him from eating healthy.
Prepping snacks and lunch sets him up for the day and helps him avoid binging on a box of crackers dipped in peanut butter while standing at the kitchen counter scrolling through email on his phone.
By the way, you can do this with your kids, too!
