The wellness industry is out of control right now because everything is about profit, marketing, influencers promoting that you need xyz because companies have realised that SO many people are in a crisis with their health, whether that’s mental, emotional or physical health. But getting into a rested state rather than chronically stressed isn’t about doing more, adding more and spending £500 on a vagus nerve stimulator.

A well balanced nervous system requires stillness, being in the moment, no rushing, no multitasking, animals , nature, a safe home, love and connection.

And if you missed a chapter, we fostered week old piglets this week and let me tell you they are doing more for my nervous system than any self help book, device, practise ever could.

I’ve heard some pretty WILD things whilst working in women’s health but this has to be up there with one of the most diabolical

Bit of a deep one but one thing I never do in front of my girls is speak negatively about food, nothing is ‘good’ or ‘bad’. I grew up with the most terrible diet and weight was always discussed in a negative way so it’s something I am SO hot on being a mum! I let them make choices by how it’s going to benefit their body.

I didn’t realise how powerful learnt behaviour was until I became a mum so I thought I’d challenge them this summer with what they deem as healthy.

We headed to so I could put their shopping to the test.

How did they do 🥰

Healing whatever concern you have right now isn’t just in the protocols, supplements and rigid routines.

When I look back at all the challenges I’ve had and the way, with fertility struggles,PMOS, gut issues etc I’ve been so ‘SWITCHED ON’ for such a long time, it makes sense and it took my daughter and that one comment for me to realise.

Get your mind out the gutter my girl 🤪

The other day I shared my reel with me going to the local market and one of the biggest things I wanted to show you was the size of the produce from Supermarket vs Market. I believe that this matters because size isn’t just about getting more for your money, it’s normally telling you something about how that food was grown.

One of the things I try to help my clients focus on is what they can actually control. Where I can I’ll always try to get results from food first before we even talk about supplements (your plate should be doing most of the heavy lifting FYI)

This is why produce quality matters so much (if you have access to a market). Mass farmed fruit/veg is normally harvested early, shipped long distance and grown in soil that’s been stripped of minerals from years of intensive farming with no time to recover. Smaller, paler, less flavoured produce actually shows us it’s had less time in the ground and less nutrient density by the time it reaches you.

Local market produce is usually grown closer to where it’s sold, picked closer to ripeness, in soil that hasn’t been depleted the same way. Bigger, denser and more vibrant means more of the vitamins and minerals actually making it onto your plate.

One of best things I do to support my health is going to the weekly market.

I was actually SO surprised at how supportive is towards my goals of skin & gut health.

I feel like people just assume that frozen is less in quality, but it’s not and it’s also more convenient because it lasts longer.

One thing I want you to take from this video is supporting your body is more accessible than the wellness industry wants you to believe. And I’ll prove it.

Shall we do more of these?
