So Let’s talk Needle Phobia!

Mild or Extreme. This is not to be taken lightly. And it is something we cannot avoid. Whether it’s to get bloods done at the GP surgery or to smooth those wrinkles with a little Botox. Jennie has had a medium needle phobia which has impacted her stress levels at the GP and has not had any skin treatments for years due to this. Luckily as a CBT therapist she knows exactly how to manage her anxiety symptoms which you can see her doing here very well. I took my time with her. Giving her breaks and letting her know each time the needle was going into her face. Her anxiety was well managed as I didn’t pressure her and took it at her pace. I understood how she felt and we discussed how we would carry out the treatment. Anxiety symptoms for a needle phobia are real; increased heart rate, breathlessness, a feeling of panic and catastrophic thoughts that something severely bad is going to happen.
