And we don’t gate keep over here’s so here’s my Ombre Lipblush tips 👇🏼
🍒 Go deeper with your colour choice
A good Ombré needs contrast. If your colour is too light, you won’t get enough depth through the outline to create that soft, seamless fade.
🍒 Make your outline more defined
I like my Ombré outline slightly stronger than a classic Lipblush. I’ll usually work over mine twice to really establish the shape before moving into the blend.
🍒 Don’t overwork the skin
The blend should be controlled and intentional. I keep mine to one pass where possible because repeatedly going over the same area can cause unnecessary trauma and lead to a less even healed result.
🍒 Look at the natural lip tone
With naturally deeper lip tones, I’ll sometimes introduce a lighter shade through the centre to create balance and keep the overall result soft.
🍒 Think about your undertones
For naturally deeper pink lips, I find a red based pigment gives a much smoother transition and helps create that seamless Ombré effect.
The difference between a good Ombré and a beautiful Ombré is often in the little decisions.
It’s not just about making the outline darker. It’s understanding colour theory, skin saturation, placement and knowing when to stop working the skin.
When all of those things come together, you get that gorgeous soft, defined effect that enhances the natural lip rather than overpowering it 💋
