✨Ombre Brows are the better option when working on acne/ textured/ oily prone skin. Excess sebum can cause microblading hair strokes to blur, so choosing the right treatment can create better healed results.
✨Needle selection is really important. A thicker needle diameter can deposit the pigment in the skin more effectively. My personal favourite needles to use are 1rl 0.35 and 3rl/rs 0.25
✨Layering the passes. Avoid rushing to implant pigment into the skin. This only causes trauma and bleeding. Use a slower and steady hand motion whilst layering the pigment into the skin.
✨Pre and post care. I encourage my clients to avoid Retinol, exfoliants and other harsh skin care products for 4 weeks before and after their treatment. These products can make the skin more fragile and create poor healed results. Accutane and other prescription medications may require your client to wait a minimum of 12 months after their last dose as PMU will likely be ineffective and cause unnecessary damage to the skin.
Troubleshooting. Look out for lymph fluid and bleeding, if this occurs try pigment masking and applying numbing for a few minutes. Check your needle length. If your needle is out too long, shorten it so it’s not snagging on the skin.
Manage expectations. Some clients may require additional sessions to achieve more noticeable results. If after 2-3 sessions there is little to no retention, consider that they may not be a suitable candidate for PMU.
