I think we’ve had enough of caramel swirl latte and double chocolate vanilla frappuccino.

I’ve retired food names.

From now on it’s:
Chocolate Labrador brunette
Golden Retriever blonde
Samoyed icy blonde
Cocker Spaniel brunette

I know nobody wants to be the Wet Dog but let’s be honest, we’ve all had that hair colour at some point. 😂

Tell me which dog breed I missed…
because I know there are some good ones. 👇🐶

Being self-employed isn’t always glamorous.

Some days it’s stressful.
Some days it’s exhausting.
Some days I question why I do it…

But I’d still choose doing hair over a 9-5 every single time. 🤍

Hairdressers… what’s your confession? 👇🏻

Foil ASMR. ✨

My favourite type of sound.

There’s just something so satisfying about a fresh set of foils going in.

I could genuinely watch hair salon ASMR all day.

Anyone else, or is it just me? 🫶🏻

Clean, bright blonde 🤍✨

Here’s what I used:

-Maria Nila Professional Silver Blonde Lightener with 1.8%–3%, depending on the area and lift required.

-Toned with 10P on the freshly lightened hair, then 10P + 10G through the ends to help soften and correct previously over-toned, purple shampoo ends.

-Finished with Gloss Coat to help protect against humidity and leave the hair feeling silky with a beautiful shine.

Every formula is tailored to the client 🤝

Thank you Charlotte Birch-James for the goods 🫶🏻

The number one reason you’re not blonde enough?

You simply haven’t been lifted light enough.

As obvious as that sounds, so many people think a toner will make them blonder.

It won’t.

A toner doesn’t lift the hair.

Let me give you a little science lesson…

Yellow reflects light. Blue absorbs light.

If you’ve only lifted to around a level 8, the underlying pigment is yellow. (Vibrant Yellow)

At that stage, you need enough violet to refine the warmth but not so much that you over-neutralise it.

Once you’ve lifted to a clean level 10, you can use less violet for brighter result.
Use too much violet, and that’s when blondes can start to look dull, smoky or muddy instead of bright.

Remember, violet is made from red and blue and it’s the blue that adds depth. (Darkens)

A level 8 lift will always be darker than a level 10.

This is exactly why one toner doesn’t suit every client.

That’s why understanding lift is just as important as understanding toners.

If you haven’t lifted the hair to a level 10, you can’t expect a level 10 toner to give you a clean level 10 blonde.

The lift creates the blonde.

The toner simply perfects it.

Lots of blondes, a few brunettes, endless foils, education, and yes… I finally did my own hair. 😂

Safe to say I don’t have many photos that aren’t hair-related anymore, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Anyone else’s camera roll look like this? 👇

I did my own hair. 😂

I decided I fancied going a bit darker, so instead of waiting for someone else to do it… I just cracked on.

One thing I forgot?

How much backcombing actually hurts when you’re doing it on yourself. 😭
And I think I’m allergic to colour on my head 🤣

Safe to say I don’t recommend it… but would I do it again? Probably.
