I think this is one of the most overlooked parts of the appointment.

Everyone is excited about choosing a colour, but I always start by looking at the natural nail first. It tells me what I need to do.

Every client is different, so I don't follow the same routine every time.

Taking those extra few minutes helps me choose the best approach before we even think about the new set.

I genuinely believe that what happens at the beginning of an appointment has a big impact on how your nails look weeks later.

People often ask me how my clients' nails look after a few weeks. So instead of trying to explain it, I thought I'd just show you.

These photos were all taken before my clients came in for their next appointment.

Every client is different, but careful preparation makes such a big difference to how the nails grow out.
It's one of the reasons I spend so much time on that part of every appointment.

One sentence stayed with me after this appointment.
"I've never had my nails done this well before."

Comments like this mean more to me than compliments about the colour.
Beautiful nails aren't just about how they look on the day. They're about careful preparation, balance, comfort and a finish that still looks good weeks later.

That's the standard I try to give every client.

You don't need the longest nails.
You don't need nail art on every finger.
You don't need to follow every trend.

Most of my clients just want to look down at their hands and think... "I love these." ❀️

That's exactly what I try to create at every appointment.

"SORRY ABOUT MY HANDS" 😐
I don't think most women realise how often I hear those words. Before we even start, some clients apologise for their hands.

Their nails are short.
Their cuticles are dry.
They've been too busy to look after them.

But do you know what? You NEVER need to apologise to me.

My job isn't to judge your hands. My job is to help you leave feeling better than when you walked in.

And that's one of my favourite parts of what I do πŸ’™

"I want something simple but not boring."

I hear that a lot. Sometimes all it takes is one small detail to make a classic set feel completely different.
This time we went with a black French and a subtle leaf accent.

Simple, elegant and still a little different. πŸ–€

One thing I never expected when I became a nail tech.
That I'd have clients who almost fall asleep πŸ˜… The funny part is, it doesn't just happen once.

A few people have told me that when I ask them to put their hand in the lamp, they need a second because they were completely daydreaming πŸ˜‚

I always laugh when it happens. I guess sometimes we all need an hour where nobody expects anything from us.

Just a coffee, a chat and pretty nails at the end πŸ’›

I have a very important question... πŸ‘€
Can anyone see who's hiding in the reflection? πŸ˜‚
I think you can spot my phone, glove and probably half the salon in these nails.

Chrome nails are basically tiny mirrors ✨

❌"My nails are so weak"

❌"They're in a terrible state"

❌"I can't grow them. They always break"

I hear this all the time from new clients. And sometimes they're right. Some people naturally have weaker nails. Some people's nails break no matter how careful they are.

But what makes me sad is when someone thinks nothing can help. That they're stuck with nails they hate forever.

Because most of the time, there are things we can do.

The right length.
The right product.
The right maintenance.

And sometimes that's all it takes to make a bigger difference than you expected πŸ’™
